Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: RIP Billy Tubbs
« on: November 04, 2020, 11:49:30 PM »
Checking in as a another near miss OU fan. Grew up in Tulsa ages 2 - 10, first exposure to college fball, bball were very good OU teams in the 80s, even TU and Oral Roberts were competitive with the Nolan Richardson and Sutton family influences.  Would’ve been full Boomer if I’d lived down there another 2 years. RIP Coach Tubbs

Yes, it is.

Jackyl played in the middle of Aggieville the night of the UT game. They were on a Guiness Book 2 shows per day for 60 days record or something.

My new dream scenario now that Jimbo joined the cult.

Willie T goes back home to FSU.

The Bank of Phillip H. Knight makes Frost an offer he can't refuse.

Cornhole U, stood up by its high school flame, remains irrelevant for years to come.

Oh man
Yeah this

I choose to believe that dog mascot is in on the chant

Craig Bohl would've been a good hire for Nubb, someone who might fix their ass-y defense. Oh well got their guy see you in 4 years.

I absolutely love that they suck Chings.  I will forever not like them and it gives me great joy knowing they are not doing well.

yes but this is all they have and it makes it kinda sad

Nope.

I'm out of energy for this. We have a 78 yr old running this thing

And Leavitt as interim would have been great for K-State football and great for Bill IMO. He looks dumb now going out and that is sad to me.

A HCIW made a ton of sense for the situation. Was the best argument in favor of the entire deal.
I'm indifferent on Leavitt as many will be but Bill in his age and health had a clean opportunity to bookend his career with a pretty uncontroversial coach-in-waiting plan and set up for a good final season.  Now his departure is going to be as messy as it was in 2005.

This is some hybrid of 2005 and 2015. A mess.

I really, really hope Bill does the right thing and announces his retirement a few days before our last game.
Should do it now IMO, need a lift to get the old man to a bowl game otherwise we're getting meaningless vs MU 2005

Twisting in the 2005 or 2015 season space. It will take no bowling to get Bill pushed out so embrace it

Agree that Sullivan needs to be on the field.  Thompson and Warmack also looked good with the 2s.  I was surprised by Thompson's speed but I wonder if his running style will change after his first shoulder surgery.  Reed looked like a man amongst boys out there although I was a little disappointed he was caught from behind on the kick.

Skylar definitely had a couple of "this ain't high school" moments. He took to really big hits that were completely unnecessary because he tried to run someone over.

If anything, this is one of the biggest thing K-State QBs have to learn. If its a short yardage situation, that's one thing, but in most cases just go to the ground or go out of bounds and save the body. No need to take unnecessary hits.
Would love to hear Coach CK7 of all people tell a QB to slide instead of truck an LB

Imagine a powercat somewhere in there. Plus you finish up 60 minute classic rock block and go straight to Wyatt and Stan on the pregame show? Then postgame no need to turn that dial unless you have a problem with Rush, Lynard Skynard, and some AC/DC bro

I just fainted
If there is a way to recreate the K-Rock feels with foxcat broadcasts I will faint too

Last roster change that involved the word 'shocking' was the Leon Patton baby shaking IIR  :frown:

Good luck to the new AD's twitter account if he doesn't use the introductory press conference to fire oscar. Frank's final four was more harmful to oscar than the timing of Currie's departure was helpful.
Agree

It would be fun to watch the John Thompsons talk about    oscar Weber.
Esp after being referred to as 'Jack Thompson' in oscar's intro presser
