The 19th NCAA tourney appearance for Kstate since I started paying attention.

Easily the least excited I've been and that includes Asbury's year when I knew we'd get killed.

My God that game was AWFUL

wasn't that the year we played new mexico and everyone got the flu or something? i just remember coming home from school all excited to check the score and then it was like, welp, eff it. guess i'll shoot nerf hoops in the basement instead

New Mexico State, it was New Mexico State that kicked our asses, total embarrassment.

No, it was New Mexico.

MIR, you may be thinking of the NIT game against NC State in 1998.  That was a terrible game:

I remember listening to that NIT game on the radio. I also remember losing at home to Billy Tubbs and TCU two seasons later

The boys on PTI were not okay with Kansas State making it in over Indiana St and Syracuse.

Don't know much about the redbirds, but Syracuse getting in would have been pretty WTF to me.

Wow...I've been hearing the Big 12 was for sure getting 7 in.  The question was whether they could make it 8.  Hopefully the Big 12 can perform well against the SEC.

I still don't feel that KSU has to do anything that crazy to get in the tournament if we just keep playing at the level we have been.  SOS will go up as the season progresses, which is a big factor in RPI.

What is the likely hood that we end up in Wichita for first/second round?

Beasley's 11 seed team ended up in Omaha with KU. So whatever the odds were then.

If it is really true the committee is going to place more value on road wins, I question is these bracketologists are taking that into account.  We currently have true road wins at Vanderbilt, WSU, ISU and Baylor.  I think ISU and Baylor would be given the same value as the home wins over OU and TCU
Maybe some of you follow this closer than I do and can correct me if I am wrong about the value of road wins.

They redefined quality wins. So there is a bit more emphasis on road wins, but over decent teams.

We are currently 2-4 in tier 1, 2-0 in tier 2, 4-1 in tier 3, and 7-0 in tier 4. We probably need at least 6-8 tier 1/2 wins to be safely in.

If we keep playing the way we've been playing, we may end up winning the conference. I would say that's a tall order.

I just don’t want to sweat selection Sunday. I don’t think a 5-7 seed range with this team is too much to ask.

I will go as far to say that this team could be a 4 to 7 team. We have had a lot of mentions in Big 12 media recently since we gave other teams the success to shut down one of the best players in the country, we are going to take care of business saturday against Georgia. Then going to what could go down as one of the biggest games of Bruces career so far in Bramlage. This whole 5 game stretch has been a telling one to the committee and if they have the balls to put us 7th or above I will be one angry cat fan.
