TITLETOWN - A Decade Long Celebration Of The Greatest Achievement In College Athletics History => Kansas State Football => Topic started by: Pete on November 01, 2021, 07:19:12 AM

What I delight to wake up on a Monday morning late midway through the college football season and see our cats above the bottom half of the conference rankings. I thank our forefathers who named this great state Kansas, instead of Zansas. What foresight!
My prediction is that we finish 2-2 and cement our standing as the best fo the worst, and qualify for one of the consumer financial services or snack foods bowls.

3-1. We'll split Baylor and Texas.
-
Don't get overconfident from beating shitty teams, folks
-
I doubt we lose again

We can certainly beat WVU if we bring our A game. Probably can't beat Baylor, but Texas may have just given up by the time we get to them. They seem to be imploding anymore.

you know what you might be right. I like the narrative of Texas having a broken spirit that renders their "crazy elite athletes that scored 70 points with a coach that was about to be fired" useless.
-
How many more coaches must lose their jobs? Please, won't anybody think of the coaches?
-
Mind says 2-2, heart hopes we go 3-1. Sure we are binging on some more tasty cupcakes but I think confidence and in general better play and confidence goes a long way.
Plus aren't we supposed to get some guys back from injury soon? Massie?

You're not the boss of me!
-
I really want it to be 3-1, but 2-2 is probably most likely.
1-3 is definitely still on the table as well

They are all stars and no hearts.
-
doubt we beat texas or baylor.
Maybe if we had texas at home.
-
I want 3-1, but I think it'll be 2-2. We've lost to worse WVU teams in recent years as well.

Yep. Throw in a possible bowl win and 8-5 wouldn’t be too shabby. If we managed 9-4 I’d be thru the roof.

10-3 is lawn orgies.
-
Yes, if we win 10 dang days, Bob Strawn's lawn might never grow grass again.

I want 10 wins and also go to the salting of the earth party.

Hope I'm wrong. Just think WVU/BU are playing some pretty good football right now. If we beat WVU, I think that Baylor game should be a pretty good environment.

I have it going to the same way but the latest Chernobyl rankings have me thinking the last game in Austin is still winnable.
-
If we can't beat UT this year, we might never beat them again.
-
Bijan will be a problem for our defense imo

yeah definitely. can't imagine us winning that one but IMO everything else is winnable (or a guarantee)

You like our chances to beat BU at home better than vs UT on the road? Feels weird even saying it but I’m not sure I do.
-
I feel like both are 50/50.

absolutely
-
Just realized Klieman has never beat Texas, Baylor or WVU.
-
KU - 99% W
WV - 60% W
Baylor - 40% W
UT - 30% W
UT is the biggest wildcard as they could always spiral.
-
we need UT players to be fully checked out to have a chance - which seems kind of plausible

Add OSU to that list

Ls for the rest.

According to ChERNOBYL (as of today's stats):
Kansas - W
West Virginia - W
Baylor - W
Texas - L
would take.

Did ChERNOBYL not watch this weekend's game? UT is coming apart at the seams

Road games are hard to win.
-
UT will also play Kansas and WVU leading to us. Good regrouping games

NYCcat nailed this one it appears
-
my preseason prediction remains the most viable, 9-3 regular season
-
9-3 would be more of a salting of the sock party (of 1) but still would be pretty great. Really great.
-

Massie played on Saturday, had a tackle I believe.
We'll win the next 3 and get murdered by UT. Morning after Thanksgiving, on the road, pass. The miserable people will act like it was a lost season.
-
I think we looked pretty mediocre in our losses and got super lucky against Tech. I'll be kinda shocked if we win three. I'd guess 2-2.
But either 4-5 or 5-4 is a VERY Klieman like conference record based on the past two seasons.
-
I know this is kind of a "no crap, dude" comment... but if King Felix is anywhere near as disruptive as he has been, I like our chances w/ WVU leaning on the passing game.
Baylor and Texas have really damn good rushing attacks and while we've been p. good against the run, I'm just not a fan of how we match up with them.
