I don't real think coaches put much effort in to these. Swamping 3&4 with 5&6 would probably be wise. OSU been picked 10th by every coach is kinda of surprising. Carroll has good shot at being the best player in the conference.

Uhhhhhh, wut?

Devonte' Graham 120.1 (17.9) ORtg(Ussage)
Claws 120.0 (16.4)  ORtg(Ussage)

Devonte is most years would be such a reach for Pre-POY.

28
If these are the top 5 players entering the seadon, and Devonte rough ridin' Graham preseason POY, how bad is the talent in this conf???

Closest player to Devonte last year in impact in Big 12 play was Claws. Think about that.

I think Curry has reached his mountain top and will take the best guy he can get to say yes.  That might end being Chip Kelly and I will set the floor as Les Miles.

yep.  he's now in his dream job, he's going to do everything he can to stay there and that includes hiring anyone and everyone that will further the chances that he stays there.

also, he hated ksu cats u and wanted to punish our souls and soil our university's name

I think Currie wants a cushy NCAA job. That is the dream.

I like how me made it clear that he was not paid while here.

Well he made it clear he wasn't paid to come to K-State. Not that he wasn't paid for other obligations.

Death Penalty is never going to be brought down ever again.

That is not true. If schools/Coaches get in trouble for having others take ACT test for potential recruits that are struggling to qualify, we will see the hammer get dropped. It isn't like that potential isn't there.

What if Fitz is PruplePride.com now?

33
woof.

Inaccurate.  oscar just upgraded a position of need.

then he should have just let IM stay.
Update on Mawdo, THIS DUDE IS A MONSTER. He is in my history class, the dude is tall and long. He is also stronger looking than IM which I hope is true

Yep, he is built out this offseason. He really does look freakish.

Sneaks into the tournament making 4 out of 6. On top of that he returns most of the team. Lines him up for 5/7. Can you fire that.

I fully expect Stokes to be better than Clemente this year. Stokes takes 5 less shots a game, hits a higher % from three on two less per game, hits a higher free throw %, has the same number of assists per game, and played better defense than Clemente.
Stokes can create his own shot, Clemente could not.

Stokes FR/SO comparo to Clemente JR/SR probably isn't quite fair, but still here you go:

Stokes was shooting the ball really well before he hurt is toe and than tanked at the end of the year. If he cuts down his turnovers he is going to have a statical output even or better than Denis. But won't stress a defence in transition or at the end of the shot clock like Denis.

Big issue with next team is who do you want to have the ball at the end of the shot clock. It will be either Brown or Wade.

Sleep on Ertz is real.

If you'll be here on 9/2, I will work on getting the game from kstateo.tv and onto a screen somewhere we can PAK, ideally outside or close to outside water-ish things.  Gooch will be here, and I'm sure MIXED-NUTZ would be in if he's here.

i will be and i would like to attend.

I will be hanging out with the river people in Missourah that weekend.  :curse:

Gene probably wants to fire oscar at the end of the Season and hire Miles off the open market.

39
Window dressing extension bump to 4 years for a coach that made the tournament. I assume the negotiation didn't go well and Gene wants to hire his own guy.

41
It is compliance, has nothing to do with Weber.

43
No base salary raise and only incentive raises then :don'tcare:

Yep.

Give him 2.05 mil (same as this year) and incentives for a top 3 Big 12 and/or round of 32.

Why not just give a small raise for appearance stake.

44
Schaus seems to have a ton of experience making basketball hires.

I don't think there is any valid argument for saying WSU is a "little" anymore, at least by any sane person with knowledge of college basketball.

They are a quality program, but they still commuter school. Not a national brand.

South Carolina.
As for the Shockers, I'm an out of stater that totally wants that game being played every year. I'd rather play them than even a middle of the pack P5 bubble school. But other than doing this for the fans, I honestly don't see a reason for K-State to pursue it. Someone make the case.

When the series ended in the early 2000s we were trying to get WSU to do a 3 for 2 deal (3 in Bramlage, 2 at Koch) and they requested a home and home. Turgeon was their coach and they were just starting to get decent again. For us it seemed like a lose-lose, beat them and who cares because you are supposed to, lose and its a disaster. Of course at the time we were scuffling along as a program as well, so we had no case really.

Sine then, things have changed considerably and equal deal makes sense. WSU has been a Top 20 kenpom program for 6 straight years and has a Final 4 and a Sweet 16. They are now in one of the top 7-8 conferences in the country. We have 7 NCAAs in the last 10 years with an Elite 8.

The "lose-lose" argument simply isn't valid and I'm sure they would happily play a home and home with us.

I don't think WSU wants to play K-State or KU. Either way they are the little guy getting an upset or the little getting putting in their place. I think they are all talk, that is why our negotiations with them broke down a couple of years ago.

I think if it's a three you might still want to shoot. Or give the players freedom to decide. Like you'd probably rather have Phil Forte shooting a 23 foot three over a long closeout than driving and shooting a pull-up two.

Other than that I pretty much love everything he said.

Closer is better if you are going for weak side rebounds. It is something that oscar said he had trouble coaching out of the team his first year.

48
oscar can't fix Currie's problem.

49
I don't think he's lazy, I just think he's a very quirky guy...

he doesn't seem to like point guards.  he never has a good one except when he takes over a team where someone else recruited one that he can use.
he is too much of a control freak - good pgs see his nonstop sideline act and go elsewhere and that same act also keeps him from developing the combos he does sign

He hasn't signed one in the fall yet at K-State. It is rough ridin' insane.

oscar gonna oscar. Always.

But there is a strong distaste for Weber within the fan base. It’s possible that social media distorts his approval rating, but the situation is precarious enough that people close to Weber — people who want him to succeed — have urged him to present himself better publicly. At least one said recently he was worried that the relationship between oscar and the fans was broken, “and I don’t know how you fix it.”

Well, there is one obvious way to fix it.

“You gotta win, that’s what it comes down to,” Weber said. “We won 21. To some people, that was a good year, you made the tournament. Other people, that’s not as good. So it’s just the perspective you look at it.

That schedule was created with the sole purpose of touting the 21 wins.

I think this is just poor logic. One it is better to have a harder schedule, a better SOS makes it easier to make the NCAAs. Two the staff tried to beef up schedule but no one would schedule them, that is more of a reflection of what other programs thought of K-State. Three teams was totally capable of beating good teams there is a reason they finished 30th in kenpom.
