I was trying to book a trip to NYC. I could not find one open seat going out. Only thing it would pull would be the occasional return flight.

Anything you find will be book able.
interesting. so if you wanted to do a london trip, it might be cheaper to do a RT through CDG, and just take the chunnel to london and back? LOL if so
Man, I just tried to book some random SFO-LHR avios dates on BA's website and it was 50k miles + $700.

Yeah, that'll happen. The BA website will route you to any euro destination through LHR as well. Just ignore it and look on AA.com
