it seems that overall, people who haven't read the comics love everything about the show, and people that have read them are a little upset.

seems pretty normal in comparison to books/movies and stuff.

i like that it doesn't go along with the comics so that the comic book people can't ruin crap.

I wish it was a book and not a comic.  Then I would go read it.

I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason for the spinoff is so The Walking Dead can adhere a bit more to the comics and please that crowd a bit more and then the new one can do whatever the eff they want.

Other than Tyrese killing zombies with a hammer, the two scenes sound completely different.  Not sure they were ever intended to be related, short of Tyrese is the hammer guy like Michonne is the sword girl and Darrel is the crossbow dude.

cns: just torrent them all and read them on your pc/tablet/e-reader. they go very quick and are quite enjoyable. fwiw, i've never been a big comic guy and i liked these.

also, they are introducing two important characters this season, but the story line is in such a weird limbo right now that it's hard telling what their role will be.

ok cat: do you know a lot of dickheads that have done that in the past? i don't know of many individuals who would do such a thing. i'd like to watch the best show possible. for that to happen i think the show needs to stick to the source material.

personally, i'd rather the show stick to the original, better storyline. i can think of only one instance in television/ movies where the on screen adaption made changes to the source material and ended up with a better product, the 25th hour.

Well, I love the vampire genre, and shows with blood and guts, and graphic language and sex.  So, it's good for me, but not everyone.

Yeah I think he turns like Astor and Cody into killers and then it turns out Dexter is controlled by some supernatural force. Very Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

the scene with the thousand of walkers was probably the most interested I've been in quite some time. A change of scenery has to happen because this has been really boring and I feel like they have no clue what to do with the show right now.

Yep, just watched tonight.  Boring as crap. The most exciting part was when they thought they heard somebody on the radio.  Then they hit some zombies and it was back to the trivial, mundane goings on inside the prison.

How many episodes have there been this season?  It feels like it's been one, really long, boring episode.

38 total episodes.  Been at the prison since episode 19.  It's the same, stale crap every week.  do some prison chores, make some supply runs, kill some zombies.

I keep watching because post-apocalyptic stories can be fascinating.  With some imagination and a well-funded budget, this show could be more compelling.

We've got a worldwide pandemic that has turned civilization upside down.  and the most interesting thing happening in this show is carol cleaning a water filter at an Atlanta prison.

I think it will pick up pretty quick here.  Reminds me of the slow start to season 2.  Anyways, Carol will need to be dealt with which could be interesting.

Tyreese is unstable and huge and super good with his hammer in a non-lets-build-stuff way.

If the Carol issue isn't addressed, Tyreese and Rick are going to have a big problem.  Even if Tyreese never knows that Rick knows who it is, Tyreese will have a problem with Rick not finding who did it.  That said, of course Tyreese will find out.

I like Tyreese and think that he could be really interesting very shortly.

I don't know if I have a fav story line right now, but it definitely feels like they are building to something that could be very entertaining and that it is coming shortly.

Physical safety/survival, flu epidemic, Rick's unstable emotional issues, Carol being all extra calloused about killing ppl and training others to be calloused, Tyreese being super good at killing ppl with a hammer and having just had his GF killed by someone in the prison....  This is all about to explode.  I keep watching because the monotony of the prison setting hasn't outweighed what I think will be the pay off soon.

I don't hate the idea of the show.  I'm just incredibly bored at this point.  Hoping it gets better soon.

Kinda like our football team.  I can fairly say that this team is not very good at this point.  Yet, I continue to watch every week, hoping that we improve and make a bowl game.

so,   to hoping TWD improves and makes a bowl game, so to speak.

I liked the exchange between Carl and Herschel when they were outside the prison walls. Ol' Herschel all picking berries with his one leg, blithely rambling about how safe and peaceful it is outside and how it may even be safer outside the walls than in, and Carl is all, "no we're not dummy (gun drawn) and we'll never be".  I thought it was a good scene showing the last generation with the first generation. Herschel will always see the zombie apocalypse as something that happened to his world whereas for Carl it is his world - there is no peace.

But I'm almost with Belvis on this one - I'm finding it hard to muster the energy to care anymore. For example, I've been waiting for the moment where they finally get radio contact and thought it would be a central point to the season in which it occurred and they got it this episode (faintly) and I had basically no reaction. Its missing a cohesive plot to me right now. Just seems like a bunch of despair punctuated with the occasional errand.
