I'm morbidly fascinated by their inability to spell socialism.
Thank you public education.
Or is it individual responsibility... Hard to identify which ideology to apply at which time isn't it?
Not really.
We have data that shows how badly our public educations system is failing us.
Individual responsibility being diminished is an obvious result of increasing welfare and nanny states.
The left promotes placing our eggs in the government basket that fails us here and makes it easier to be a burden on society with no productivity or responsibility. People are flawed, they abuse systems, they abuse welfare, they demand socialistic programs to stay that way.
So a little of both, with the source of the problem stemming from the left's lack of thought.
By your logic, public education would be vastly improved by dropping mandatory attendance. I guess it all goes back to first order values then doesn't it?
It goes back to people wishing to pursue self-interests. If a lack of a public education were to lead to certain failure, that would promote getting an education since success is dependent on it.
If people want to ditch school, perhaps they deserve next to nothing as a result of producing next to nothing.
Instead, we allow people that can work to not work and yet receive money from the government. People get incentives not to make too much for fear of higher taxes. People who are perfectly healthy will soon pay a large percentage of their income to cover junk food eating deadbeats who head to the doctor every other week.
I don't want people to fail, I wish everyone could be provided for. But it isn't practical. And it sets up a system of government in which there is no innovation and the productivity of the few is exploited for the others. If I know a safety net is below, why not go ahead and fall?
