Going opening weekend of NCAA bball tourney. Might hit Phoenix en route for some Royals and golf.
I assume you've nailed down where you'll be watching/betting?  I'd recommend doing some research into getting one of the book's apps that allow you to make a deposit at the book and make bets from your phone.  It'll save you ages waiting in line at the cage.  I know Ceasar's does this.  I assume most of the other ones do as well.  Might consider doing it at the Westgate if you're into the exotic stuff (and don't mind the ~10 minute drive off the strip).
Thanks. It's my first trip. These guys have been going for years now.

I've never gone for opening weekend.  I went out for the Sweet 16 weekend a couple years ago and it was an absolute blast, and I'm sure opening weekend is even crazier.   I'm sure you're in good hands if your buddies know the opening weekend ropes.

I'm surprised that sort of thing is still as popular as it is with how easy it is to gamble and watch lots of games in one place almost anywhere in america.

I've been to Vegas on the opening weekend of March Madness and it was pretty great.

Worth it for the shared experience of being in the sportsbook when you have something like the end of Vikings - Saints and whether or not they would kick the final extra point for an impossible cover.

True.  I think the move is to make the bet, go to the pool and pak or whatever fun vegas thing you choose, and go back to the sportsbook area to peek in at the end of the game if it's close.

Betting O/Us and cheering every missed/made basket is another fun little game.

nothing quite like watching one of the most exciting plays in nfl playoffs history with a bunch of random degenerates in a packed vegas sportsbook

Vegas during CBB Confy champ weekend is the best. More games than any other time of year.

while it may not be the Granfalloon by any stretch, the Mirage sportsbook is a fun place to watch sporting events.

It's pretty awesome. Probably the best time to be in Las Vegas. Everyone is in a great mood and there are tons of people in town mutually interested in the same thing. I went last year and will probably be going again this year. As a poker player, it's probably the best time to visit Las Vegas -- including the World Series of Poker.

I was at a $1/$3 poker table last year at the Wynn w/ a guy that had $80k tied up in 4 different bets. He didn't give a rats ass about what was happening in the poker game. We were all rooting for him to win his bets.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Sure he can drink his liver into a comma with White Russians at a bar but me placing a few bets on a sporting event makes me a degenerate

That's closer to what I'd do - make the sports bets and then go do something that's more unique to having traveled to Vegas.

it’s only gambling when you have a shot at winning
the truth is that vegas is a dirty town filled with dirty people living broken dreams.  behind the neon sits a truly sad place that I don’t care for at all.

I was a major winner this week. Turned $20 into a thousand over 2 years of betting. Got packed at home and enjoyed Tulsa cover the spread vs WSU.  :gocho: Bovado shipped out the golf tournament life size check yesterday.

Sure he can drink his liver into a comma

Seems pretty tame. If you said he could drink his liver into an exclamation point, I'd be more impressed.
