I have to admit, relative to the classified documents case, what Trump did was pretty bad.

"Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Trump willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his presidency when he was a private citizen. These materials included (1) marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and (2) notebooks containing entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods."

Yeah, they don't prosecute people they aren't certain they are going to convict and Trump is a former president...

Unfortunately for Trump, the DOJ wasn't going to determine that he was too mentally incapacitated to stand trial. In the same context, the DOJ did not believe that Trump was a feeble figure who would derive nothing more than sympathy and pity from a jury.  Per the DOJ, Don Trump is not some grandfatherly figure in a state of severe mental decline.
