Line went from +8.5 to +7...people starting to realize the cats are rough ridin' back
-
I threw a couple units towards the cats tonight, no chance that arkansas can keep this close.
-
Time to print some money.
-
I expect McGuirl to have a big night
-
Despite their name, they are not Kansas - Cats by 20
-
Hurts the image of our program tbh
-
I expect pigfuker will come in here and give us the business after this contest
-
We're going to beat the crap out of them.
-
We're going to beat the crap out of them.
This is the general feeling I’ve been getting too. Even from a few of the hog fans at the office.
-
I will be attending my first kstate basketball game in 3 years tonight, EXCITED FOR BRUCEKETBALL! :ksu:

is ILL tanking to avoid us in the finals?
-
Really bad job making jump shots so far
-
😬
-
Not great so far
-
getting waxed, but that ARK end of the bencher had huge pit stains
-
They are just toying with us.
-
This is a good barometer check for this team. About where I thought we would be.
-
Yep, we're still dogshit.
-
Next year?
-
Horrible charge call, that needs to be removed from the game
-
Fire oscar.
-
Fire oscar.
We have to keep this core together!
-
I think we can (and should) claim moral victory if we can keep it within 30
-
Starting to attack…
-
I have heard from my bookie that Arkansas is extremely underrated at #13. I'm told the real rankings (not media bias) have them around #2 or #3.
-
We’ll start to make some threes and they’ll start to miss their fadeaway midrangers
-
Awful

i didn't realize they'd already started the regular season. is this the sec challenge game?
-
I foresee a big run to start the 2nd half and a come from behind victory for the wildcats!
-
So much for kicking off the week right. Not sure if I should quit drinking or just keep pounding?
So outclassed.

Quality lol

We have to keep this core together!
Why?
-
Play Selton more!
-
Play Nowell less. Fouls too much, can't take care of the ball.

He's good at an open layup though?
-
This looks pretty bad
-
But to be fair, no one can take care of the ball. Typical Oscarball.
-
14th time's a charm!!!

HEART

Another year with no one who can shoot on this team.
We have shooters. We don't have an offense.
-
Disaster start and shooting but we are the better team
-
4-starish (he's kind of a 4-star)
-
Where’s that dumbass that kept telling me this team wouldn’t suck ass at shooting and just offense in general?
-
How many clutch 3's has Mcguirl ever hit? I can think of one.... maybe..?
-
They're taking open shots. They'rd not actually this bad at shooting because no team is.
-
They might be...
-

Just short term variance. Remember when the rockets missed 27 in a row
-
I'll be surprised if we aren't in the bottom 3 in the conference in shooting percentage.
-
Chingon you’re a math guy, you’re better than to think that. They’re good at fts which is a good indicator for 3
-
Ark shooting 37 percent, Cats 36
Ark 3-22 from 3, Cats 2-19
Both teams suck at shooting
-
It's too early to assume there's some higher mean that we will tend to. It's perfectly possible our mean shooting percentage is pretty damn low.
But to be fair it could also be higher.
I'm just frustrated... We should be better than this
-
If the cats could hit 3's at somewhat respectable they could win, Arky can't do crap in the second half
-
We are winning the crap out of the 2nd half. If you told me we’d go 1-1 against arky I don’t know how you can be upset about that!
-
Arkansas won the game at the line. Cats lost it at the 3-point line.

We have a lot of career average shooters. One elite shooter. I think we’ll be average but it’s ok cause we’ll shoot a lot of 3s which is a better shot on average and it wil open up the offense a lot.
-
Didn't make the plays, fairly moral on that but they are definitely better than last year
-
We win if Massoud is even an average offensive player that game. Went 0-8 with just an awful shot selection most of the time.
-
Both teams were 3/22 from three. It's absolutely not too early to assume that neither will finish the season at 13.6%.
We could have shot better tonight, but so could have Arkansas. Arkansas was just better overall. Notae and Toney are ridiculous athletes.

Don’t even have to leave this thread to get a yummy taste of moral victory
-
Moral victories absolutely mean something. Margin of victory is factored in most ranking systems for a reason.
-
You literally can't get any closer to covering without actually covering. Pretty impressive

eff man, people can't have promise about having a basketball team that's better one year removed from the worst K-State team o.a.t.? Jesus, misery loves company, I guess.

I just sad that last 3 didn't fall so we'd end up on Bad Beats.
-

True moral victory experts would argue you can’t have one when you equal the Vegas line. But coming back and winning the 2nd half by 10, I think that’s enough to give it the big MV.

I enjoyed my first bruceketball experience since 2018 and absolutely LOVE talking friendly smack to Arkansas Fans that I learned in the "Does playing Arkansas hurt the image of our program thread"
"Wow you guys have alot of fans here, did you use up all the make-a-wish's in your state"
"Yeah, but have you ever won a conference title in football? The what? Southwest something? Never heard of it"
(Insert joke about XC/Track national titles) "We play real sports at Kansas State, not trying to be the best at exercising"
Also the standard basic boy outfit for young arkansas grads is white wrangler jeans with boots. There was a group in front of us wearing that and I kept calling them all van halen. Ran into them at Johnny's after the game and THEY ICED ME. They must of pooled all of their remaining money to afford it but I took it as a compliment and finished it.

Sounds like the new guys have been fully assimilated into the offense. Basketball is a really simple game. Why do we always make offense look so hard???

exactly what I said last night. we look to constrained out there. pack had a one dribble step back and drained a three towards the end of the game. more of that please and thank you

Some teams make basketball (esp the offensive aspects) look effortless and fun (KU, Baylor, Hoiberg's ISU teams). We tend to make it look agonizing!
-
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a game where over 40 threes get chucked between two teams and only 13% go in.

It's because oscar wants to limit possessions so we go into these agonizing half court sets, then if we aren't hitting shots it makes it even worse. The twitter crowd complains about the number of 3s we take but against most quality teams, we're going to shoot a ton because oscar doesn't really allow them to score on the break or secondary break, which is how you're going to get most shots at the rim. You can see this with Arkansas. Mussleman slowed them down after the under 12 timeout in the second half and they, for the most part, stopped getting shots at the rim and started chucking 3s.

Ball movement was bad. No screens. One guy dribbling into bad shots again and again

Our front court is going to be a huge problem, I’m not worried about our backcourt. Ish and Bradford need to play wayyyy better for this team to be any good.

Limiting possessions is great if The Flush or Jake Pullen are slashing into the lane for a layup at the end of the shot clock or if Jimmy Chitwood is swishing a wide open jumper that has been set up by great side-to-side ball movement in the halfcourt offense. The way oscar does it is tough to watch.
-
Ish has zero desire to play inside.
Seems like he would be a guy that could draw a bunch of fouls if he had the desire to.

Yeah, most college basketball teams are going to look horrific in half court sets. When Butler went to back to back final fours they played some of the worst looking basketball o.a.t.

i think nigel and selton need to play more than 28 minutes a game
-
Selton's offense is a need but he's a liability on defense
-
Selton's offense is a need but he's a liability on defense
Lol no
-
i don't think our offense needs to be that complicated or beautiful. selton, nigel, and nowell are all creators. space the floor and let them do their thing.
-
Selton's offense is a need but he's a liability on defense
Literally wtf lol
-
Honestly probably the worst defender we have on the team.

It's irony!
