greg's story reminds me of a story and i am going to now share it here:

one summer when i was in high school two of my friends and i worked at a local telemarketing call center and there was a standard issue breakroom in the building. there were various vending machines in there and one of them was this weird rotating column thing that had like sandwiches and hotdogs and pastries and they were each in their own little cubby hole that had these sliding clear plastic doors that if you selected one and paid for it you could then open the door up of the corresponding cubby and get your selection directly out of the machine.

so anyway one of the friends was not right and would do almost anything someone suggested he do in the name of trying to be funny. so i suggested that he buy one of the hotdogs and then take the little paper tray it came in (like this:

) and go to the restroom and crap in it and then while the other guy and i kept a lookout bring it back to the breakroom and re-select the empty cubby and put it back in.

he did it and it was pretty rough ridin' hilarious. at least in theory. i mean i wouldn't have thought a single piece of crap in a closed vending machine would smell as powerfully as it did, but it was like someone had left a large rotting animal carcass in the middle of the room and had also filled the carcass with feces. it was frankly unbelievable.

it took the management three days to figure out what was wrong in there and instead of freaking out and trying to find out who did it, like threatening everybody, etc. they never said anything about it. like it never happened. so rough ridin' bizarre the way people respond to adversity. kind of a dugger reaction i guess.

obviously the idea was that one of the coworkers would be spinning the column around browsing for some food item and then see a big piece of crap in a hotdog tray in one of the cubbies and be like wtfh!? except we never got to find out if that's how it went down. probably best that it didn't happen that way because we would have really falloned it up and outed ourselves.

^^great story. Enjoyed that. This could be a good "situational question" for an interviewee of a management pos. "How would you react to finding a crap Dog in the break room vending machine, and what would be your next steps?"

yeah, i thought maybe they were worried they'd have to get rid of the machine or that they'd get reported/sued because people were still eating out of that rough ridin' thing for three days while there was open-air crap in there. or they realized they manage a telemarketing call center and just didn't rough ridin' care, like why even bother. probably a combo of those.

If it smelled that bad, you would have thought that it would have smelled really, really bad right at the machine and anyone who tried to get something out of it would have realized the smell was coming from the machine right away.

i can confirm that people continued to eat out of it. and once you were in the room the smell was pervasive. it was uncanny. there was no smelling your way to the source. it was everywhere at once.

When I was at jury duty last week, there was a toilet seat on stilts, kind of like this:

I was just doing my normal business, bbsing, maybe a crossroad, when I noticed the floor was wet! I was like, gross, is that coming from the next stall? Yuck! Then I got up and noticed the back of my leg was wet because it went straight out of the gap created by the risen toilet seat. so gross, but the lady sitting next to me took off her shoes and put her socks on the seat so I guess in comparison it wasn't that bad.
