Is it worth the money saved on re-finishing hardwood floor is your DIY? Cost to have it done professionally would be about 1200 bucks

Just lived in. Regular wear and tear over the past 5-6 years. No real damage or deep cuts. Imo needs a good sanding and a couple coats of finish.

My opinion as well. Would have to rent a sander and buy the finish, but would prob save most of the cost.

Speaking of smeared poop…

Either my sewage ejector pump failed or there is a blockage between my house and the sewer. Poop and TP had come out the overflow along the side of the house yesterday. Hopefully the plumber can figure it out today. Currently afraid to flush or shower.

Never related quite so well to the “not that kind of lawyer (engineer)” line.

My money is on a blocked service line between your house and the main. It is also possible that the main is blocked and is backing up into your service line. Either way, it's a shitty situation.

half of my sunday was spent helping a buddy break out his old cast iron lines and replacing. Glad it was his house and not mine. He's also an engineer and my lord all engineers are dorks. freaking overanalyze everything

Storm drain in front of our house is constantly blocked and any significant amount rain causes the sand and dirt from new construction up the hill to settle in my yard, drive and street. Yesterday morning was worse because it was trash day and the rain dumped a dozen or so trash bins in front of my house along with their trash.
