I don't think he's on any pay site and if he it's a shared login and he can't get the person who's paying kicked off.

Definitely needed for small gas engines.  Ethanol plugs the crap out of valves and if left in your engine for over 6 months you're looking at shop time to clean this gluely crap from the carb.
