Cross post with "Signs of getting old" thread but anytime my dad is out at the catless ranch and I notice it's possibly going to rain out there I text him and he absolutely loves telling me about how much rain they did or didn't get.

I think I've become desensitized to all the bps, bips, basis points horse crap. First company I worked at the CEO loved using basis points every chance he got. Now it's like white noise.

Pffft. That's rich, for many reasons.

My family had no say in the matter. Not that they would have interfered, but it wasn't their money and therefore not their choice. I don't even know where my undergrad degree is, but I cherish the mammaries.

Nothing going on this weekend so I decided to go out to the cat ranch. The junkyard is overflowing with Wild Sunflowers since it actually rained this year. rough ridin' mosquitoes are terrible tho....like douse yourself in deet and there are still 50 hovering over you

It's hot as crap and all you want is a nice summer breeze? NOPE, enjoy some squitos instead.

Its cold as crap and all you want is the wind to stop? NOPE, Still going at 15-20mph all day everyday.

But did you not see those majestic sunflowers?

Also found an adorable baby toad who was grumpy I picked him up.

Sometimes a dog will pick up a toad in its mouth and start foaming out of their mouth all crazy like. Some toads (all?) have some toxic stuff on their body that causes a mouth bubble bath for dogs sometimes.

@sys please identify this skink/salamander looking thing. Found it next to the house out here in NW KS and have never seen one out here before.

3 months ago it was a desert wasteland in the middle of a 2 year drought and then the rains returned and we have non toad amphibians just popping up out of the ground?

When I was a kid we called them mud puppies.  They travel when it is wet and they love hand-dug water wells.  We would get them in our well in the spring and would have to climb down the well and catch them slimy little suckers.  We would know right away because the water would taste awful.  They are like SD said about toads and our dogs knew not to mess with them.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.
