Arizona signed a 2 star kid from Arkansas. Therefore, they and Arizona State should consider a move to the Big 12. It makes about as much sense as the rest of realignment, I guess.

It's been a rumor for a long time; that they would be the most likely P5 candidates to consider it.

They fit some profiles; they weren't original Pac 8 members, they feel looked over by the California power base, etc.

A lot of the underlying things in that article are true; the schools apparently do feel really screwed by Scott and the P12N. Going it alone was a really, really, really bad decision on their part.

However, it's highly, highly unlikely. It may be a situation when their GOR ends that they'd look to move or something like that, if things are still the same, but odds are that they won't be. They'll do something with the P12N by then.

$15 million/year would be very tough for a proud school like Texas to swallow. Will not happen unless ESPN finds some way to escape the contract, Texas won't voluntarily terminate. Any AD that left that much money on the table for "conference unity" would be dismissed ASAP.

i'd be fine with that, it would still have to be more than we're getting from kstatehd.tv.com

i mean, of course that's the only scenario.
espn owns lhn, it's not like lhn and the b12 network would exist as peer networks or that the other 9 teams would go to fox or cbs. espn owns our tier 1 rights. texas will and should get a higher cut of the ducketts.

Either give them the money to be happy when we renegotiate with 10 teams or take most of the Make-Texas-Happy money from the TV deal of the new teams if we expand to 12.
