pause for some legit talk here from the gemsmaster - that was a really smart move by klanderman. to be fair, rattler generally did a pretty good job most of the game "taking what we gave him," but forcing lincoln riley to be patient and not try to score in 4 plays every drive was really smart and worked.

We've seen a lot of bad losses over the past 10+ years, but this is the worst loss I can remember. Even a Stoops coached team didn't crater this bad. For me, that far too common feeling of football anxiety set in after their second long play of the 2nd half.
Somehow you could see it coming....even though we still had a comfortable lead at that point. KSU had what, 100ish yards of offense until the middle of the 3rd quarter? I expect it from the defense, but what the eff happened to the offense? The talent gap between both teams on that side of the ball should be huge.
Just unexplainable. I still don't know what I saw, and I have nothing else to say.

If we are being honest, losing to K State at home as a 28 point favorite might be the most normal thing that has happened in 2020.
100% man. This guy is not a head football coach. Kleiman is actually a good coach, but has inferior talent at Kansas State. Riley is a NFL-QB groomer. A coordinator at best, but even his play calling is questionable. He's just a creative offensive mind, but not much else. This program deserves better, but unfortunately has not moved on from Bob Stoops and his coaching tree. OU needs to clean house once and for all.

OU fans (including myself) have nightmares about this game last year. But there is one glaring difference from last year....KSU's offensive line is much worse. For the first time in 31 years, KSU has ZERO returning starters on their offensive line. I expect this defense to be in the backfield a lot on Saturday. KSU will not control the LOS like they did last year. Barring any turnovers or kicking game craziness, I will be very surprised if KSU scores more than 17. I think we will score around 40-45....so I will wait for that O/U line to creep up and the under will likely be my play on this game (if I play it at all).

I used to be such a die hard, but the program is well past the point of "stale". They are still operating with remnants of the Bob Stoops era. Until they get rid of Riley and find a real college football head coach, this is what you will get. He's a QB groomer for the NFL. Riley says all the right things, but he really doesn't know crap about a defense or special teams.
We had a fantastic 20 year run, but I fear we maybe looking down the road at a lackluster decade. It happened to UT and it can/will probably happen to us. What top defensive talent wants to play football in Norman, OK when all they care about is offensive numbers and chasing Heismans. Defensive players have figured out that they should either stay in Texas or go the SEC if they want to actually improve their game. Its not even angering anymore, its just whatever. Thats the big problem. 5-10 years ago, OU fans would be outraged. Today we shrug our shoulders. Program is in a very bad state right now.
I’ve finally seen what the rest of fanbases have been saying for years OU is really just not that good. We benefit from being a part of the softest conference in CFB. Total lack of defense lack of coaching etc...time to get back into NFL football, OU is just never going to break through with the philosophy’s we have here since midway through stoops career.
The RRR now becomes our only meaningful game left to play. Hope the team pulls their tampons out for it.
I'm not shocked. I wish I was. Rattler played like a freshman today. He showed flashes of what he can be, but he also made freshman mistakes. Our young OL also had trouble getting any run game going. When all that happens you get beat by any team halfway decently coached.
What surprises me was the defensive collapse. That was rough ridin' bizarre, but KSU just threw everything in the playbook against us and we didn't respond enough times.
Outplayed and outcoached. It's that simple. Thank God this is basically a glorified scrimmage year -- because that's how the team seemed to be treating things.

We've seen a lot of bad losses over the past 10+ years, but this is the worst loss I can remember. Even a Stoops coached team didn't crater this bad. For me, that far too common feeling of football anxiety set in after their second long play of the 2nd half.
Somehow you could see it coming....even though we still had a comfortable lead at that point. KSU had what, 100ish yards of offense until the middle of the 3rd quarter? I expect it from the defense, but what the eff happened to the offense? The talent gap between both teams on that side of the ball should be huge.

100% man. This guy is not a head football coach. Kleiman is actually a good coach, but has inferior talent at Kansas State. Riley is a NFL-QB groomer. A coordinator at best, but even his play calling is questionable. He's just a creative offensive mind, but not much else. This program deserves better, but unfortunately has not moved on from Bob Stoops and his coaching tree. OU needs to clean house once and for all.

i think when the guy got his head suplexed into the CMU wall it was pretty clear he was out. He didn't make any attempt to block the onslaught of punches to the face he got after that. You used to be able to walk between buildings just north of the corner of Manhattan and Moro. There was a weird angled alley that you could only see if you were standing in, it was barely wider than your shoulders. Lots of people pissed there. Also lots of people got pissing there but that because they didn't finish before turning to face Moro or the employee parking lot behind Porters.

I should specify. The alley is still there. But it is now very well lit and frequented as a thoroughfare to get to the Varsity Truck that serves late-night snacks behind Porters/Varsity Donuts.

The Mae's bathrooms received a significant upgrade five or so years ago. I would say currently the Lou are still the most treacherous. After the Lou you're probably looking at Yard Bar (the old Rusty's Outback) then O'Malley's Alley.

Yes, Mae's has a very good bathroom. Last Chance was the bathroom that swore me off of Aggieville bathrooms in college, it literally always had a quarter inch of piss flooding the floor.

No one leans harder into their mascot than OSU. Even their terrible radio guy yelling “pistol’s firing” for every touchdown is so cringy. I once had my wife’s friend’s OSU husband tell me the wildcat growl sound at KSU was too much and before I could stop myself I just said “Are you rough ridin' kidding me?” I’ve been to a ton of games at GIA and every stoppage the big screen is just another 70 year old doing the gun hand signal. No one ruins the atmospheres in very good combination of stadium & arena like OSU. I say that as my 2nd favorite team my whole life being OSU with a lot of strong family ties to OSU.
