NFL Draft Scout's Rick Serritella lists Washburn senior CB Corey Ballentine as a player to watch for in the 2019 class.
As Serritella notes, Ballentine (6'0/204) is a dual-threat star at Washburn, also excelling at track. That speed is also on display on the football field, and at 6-foot, 204-pounds, he has the size to potentially be an outside corner as well. "A solid tackler, Ballentine plays physically and persevered through difficult times as a freshman, when he contemplated quitting football," writes Serritella. "Praised by his coaches for being smart and humble, the NFL will be happy that he decided to stick it through and now he's in line to be rewarded for all of his hard work over the past four years."

The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard voiced concerns over the athleticism of Washburn CB Corey Ballentine after the week's Senior Bowl practices.
"Ballentine has good size and did make a few plays this week, but I saw him give up separation enough to be worried about his athleticism," Ledyard writes, noting that on several occasions, OSU WR Terry McLaurin ate Ballentine's lunch downfield. The NFL Scouting Combine will be key to the Washburn standout's draft stock given his uneven and sometimes troubling play during the practice week down in Mobile. He'll look for a slight rebound in the Senior Bowl, itself, on Saturday.
