The hoppy tallgrass ale stuff is too over the top for my taste. The boulevard seemed full bodied without being obnoxious

 :dubious:

Not valid. What tallgrass is comparable to Saison-Brett?

@ 8mp going to be in Chicago in March. Need good beer spots. Any suggestos?
Beer bars or brew pubs?

Revolution Brewing has their own place up in Logan Square. Piece Brewing and Pizzeria is good in Wicker Park, Half Acre Brewing is in Lincoln Square, but I haven't been... Supposed to be good. There is a bar in West Loop that serves all the 3 Floyd's beers. Any number of bars that serve tons of craft beers, just depends what part of town you are in

thanks, man! we're staying in the river north area. I'll try to check out a few of these spots

Guys Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA is my all time favorite beer.  It's got everything I love.  A little citrus, not too heavy, but plenty of hops.  Whenever i venture from really cheap beer (mostly high life) this is what I get.  What a treat.

for sure get over to Brooklyn brewery for a pretty awesome experience if you have an extra hour or two. Dogfish head. Bronx Brewery. High Point.

Avoid: Tuckerman's

you see this KCFD?

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2015/01/05/369445171/craft-brewers-are-running-out-of-names-and-into-legal-spats?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=20150105

yeah I read that this morning. very true and sad. the amount of money I've spent on legal fees just to get stuff TM'd etc is incredible.

it's funny the highlighted Magee from Lagunitas, he's pretty well known to be a major bad person in the beer industry. he hates when people say he's infringed on them, but is quick to sue anyone who infringes on them. for example he and sam adams got into it last year when SA introduced a west-cost IPA.

It's an interesting dividing line, there are people who are anti-trademark and people who TM everything. I'm in the middle, I don't want some company to come in and take my names and use them, so I TM'd everything. however, I won't go after everyone who uses a font or a name similar to mine. that's just exhausting. To trademark the initials IPA is absurd IMO.

that makes me feel better about not liking their beer.

I love IPA's but, special releases tend to be over-hyped, sucks is ok. sugga is actually pretty good, but not as good as a lot of people want it to be.
