Birmingham England, 1919: Scarecrow runs an illegal bookie and is a mildly successful small time criminal surrounded by blue collar WWI vets, when fate provides a chance to improve his situation. But it is risky because Jurassic Park guy is a no nonsense cop with a muddled Scottish slash northern Irish accent who is motivated to clean up the city in this critically acclaimed BBC original series. Now on Netflix. Also season 2 apparently has Tom mother rough riding Hardy in it.

Is it gripping? suspenseful? dramatic? occasionally humorous? engaging? When you finish one episode, do you feel compelled to watch the next? That type of thing.
