QuoteTwo things I heard; both from KSU players as they ran to the locker room past the band.
"Time to get the F*** out of Iowa!"
*specifically towards the band* "Wildcat nation, b****."
Classy, cats.
Q: If you were to point to one thing about KSU's offense that makes it unique, what would it be? Klein, our usage of the fullback, blocking schemes such as the one shown on the speed option, etc.?
I'd say the combination of power and option and the variety of personnel/formations is what makes K-State most unique.
Bowling pins
dumb post by the OP.ksu SHOULD have had a 0.96 point per play advantage. we played worse than our ranking indicates
KU
yards per play 4.79 (that is horrible)
points per play .19 (horrendous)
KSU
yards per play 9.3 (dominating)
points per play 1.1 (dominating)
The efficiency numbers were extremely lopsided at halftime as well. Charlie kept it close only on the scoreboard with some gimmicks and gambling in the first half but it was already clear if we simply stopped a few 3rd downs (although we did and they faked FGs, punts) it would be a blowout. And that is exactly what it turned out to be.
KU actually has a lot of veterans on the field. They will probably be worse next season.
2009 was kinda neat. Everyone stayed in their seats after the game was over.
Hate to be THAT guy, but we did not score a touchdown until the 4th qtr. There's a lot of room for improvement - UTEP looked better on O than us vs OU through the first 3 qtrs.
How about that play where CK literally pump faked like 3 times but still had plenty of time to check down to (Lockett or Thompson I'm not sure). That was where the dominance of our OL was most evident I think.
