I just think that the coaches were trying to play not to lose tonight. That was a mistake, but glad that it didn't bite us in the ass.

I think K-State is going to be very fired up because they were so close knocking off Oklahoma State last year. They'll want some revenge because had they beat Oklahoma State, K-State could had won the conference last year.

If there is a statement game, this is it.

I like it a lot about the fact that he can also catch from the backfield. Hubie has great hands.

I personally, don't give a crap about the media.

I think the subtraction of Cosh was an addition to the improvement of our defense.

Eh, great teams overcome valid and not so valid penalties.

K-State is doing a remarkable job on that aspect.

Two things I heard; both from KSU players as they ran to the locker room past the band.

"Time to get the F*** out of Iowa!"

*specifically towards the band* "Wildcat nation, b****."

Classy, cats.

Kansas State Football / Re: _FANframes from KU: 6 Key Plays
« on: October 11, 2012, 11:37:12 AM »
Q: If you were to point to one thing about KSU's offense that makes it unique, what would it be? Klein, our usage of the fullback, blocking schemes such as the one shown on the speed option, etc.?

I'd say the combination of power and option and the variety of personnel/formations is what makes K-State most unique.

I agree. This team is more than capable of tossing 3 wide formations and still run a option, or a jumbo package and still execute the option play. I do wonder, how many times did K-State deployed a 5 wide formation in 2011 compared to 2012. I'm guessing that they have deployed it more often this year than last year, considering that Klein has improved his mechanics or his read progressions, but that would be my speculation.

Regardless, this offense is very very good and fun to watch.

Bowling pins

When Loomis made that hit, I went "Ooohh!" And when they showed it again on the replay, everyone did the same thing.

That hit was awesome.

Kansas State Football / Re: no matter what the final score says

dumb post by the OP.

KU
yards per play 4.79  (that is horrible)
points per play .19 (horrendous)

KSU
yards per play 9.3 (dominating)
points per play 1.1 (dominating)

The efficiency numbers were extremely lopsided at halftime as well.  Charlie kept it close only on the scoreboard with some gimmicks and gambling in the first half but it was already clear if we simply stopped a few 3rd downs (although we did and they faked FGs, punts) it would be a blowout.  And that is exactly what it turned out to be.

KU actually has a lot of veterans on the field.  They will probably be worse next season.
ksu SHOULD have had a 0.96 point per play advantage.  we played worse than our ranking indicates

Well, KSU did play down to KU's level. Of course, that timeout before halftime pissed me off. That costed us 6 plus XP point. Not to mention that taking a knee at the end of the game was also possible 3 or 6 plus XP point.

So we left off 14 points off the board during the whole game.

2009 was kinda neat. Everyone stayed in their seats after the game was over.

Ditto. 2009 was Mangino's last year, and KU was much superior in terms of talent, and Snyder just clowned Mangino with his SCHEME.

« on: September 24, 2012, 01:30:10 AM »
Hate to be THAT guy, but we did not score a touchdown until the 4th qtr.  There's a lot of room for improvement - UTEP looked better on O than us vs OU through the first 3 qtrs.

I understand and I agree that there is a lot of room for improvement, but I think the gameplan was to beat OU into submission and the run game would take over in the 4th quarter. I'll take 0 offensive TD's, 3 FG and a defensive TD going to the 4th quarter while down by 3 (13-10 OU) while nabbing 3 turnovers.

The 4th quarter showed that OU's defense was worn down and couldn't make the stop after getting manhandled at the point of attack.

How about that play where CK literally pump faked like 3 times but still had plenty of time to check down to (Lockett or Thompson I'm not sure). That was where the dominance of our OL was most evident I think.

Gotta pay Dickey! That was a solid hire by LHCBS.
