I just watched Adam Silver's press conference.  I really was impressed with him, and I think his decision was wonderful.  I'm going to give the whole watching an NBA game on TV another try, just because of him.  I wish I had one of the ratings devices on my TV, so I could "reward" him for that, in some small way.

I've always liked watching the finals, because everyone is really busting their asses the entire time, and you can see how much it means to the players, and it's dramatic with fans going nuts.  If it's like that, I like the game.  Reading some of the comments in this thread about the atmosphere at Mavericks and Thunder games sounds promising.  My personal experiences attending games of poop teams certainly soured me on it.

Silver, in that one press conference, was way better than Stern ever was.

I think it's hilarious how much midwesterners hate the NBA. The number of people that have used that talking point "NBA players only play defense in the playoffs" on me the past few days is just hilarious. A KC team would never work.

OKC is pretty midwesterny.

No, they are pretty desperate...for any pro team, and particularly one that is a winner.  Let's see how they do when they suck.

Hockey would do wonderful in OKC instead of the NBA, if they were winners.

Now, add an NFL team and an MLB to that market and you'll quickly exceed the discretionary income of the population/corporations in the area.

It's no secret that the NBA takes a back seat to football and baseball in nearly every single market in which all three sports exist.  And, probably not as good as dominant college football teams in those areas either.    That isn't a midwestern thing.

Ask the Charlotte Hornets how well they think they stacked up against UNC/Duke/Wake/NC State basketball (you'll have to go to terrible college basketball town/region New Orleans to ask them).

How can I watch the Memphis-OKC game in MHK? On NBATV, it says it's blacked out.

Mike Miller is going off.  I hope you're not a huge Mike Miller fan, sunny.

Good lord. The Bulls were down three with a couple of minutes left and the Wizards got three or four offensive rebounds, running the clock down to under a minute.

Westbrook:  18 pts on 18 shots midway through the third.  This guy is the worst.
