A few things that stuck out in charting the offense from the OU game. _FANframes coming later.

You won't find better analysis in any printed publication, or media outlet anywhere.  Head and shoulders above the rest.  _Fan is the man.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

So we ran the ball 2/3 of the time, and of those runs, over half were power lead.  But, we used least 3 receivers two-thirds of the time, and only used 2 tight-ends twice.

That's getting done on the offensive line.  AMIRITE!

KSU_FANalysis is best in the online biz, fellas.  He tipped me off BEFORE the game that KSU's secondary packages would be the key to the win.  After the game Kenny Stills, OU receiver, stated that KSU's secondary gave them some confusion with their bracket coverages.  He said it was something they had seen before while facing their own defense but it was different due to the preparation for our defensive schemes.

KSU_FANalysis...bringin' it!
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Looking forward to when fitz decides he can spend more time at tubbys but still give his consumers meaningful analysis by simply cutting and pasting this info and claiming as his own.

I just hope no other teams catch wind of this and break down the scheme doctor's formula.   :sdeek:

Yes, very impressive. I didn't break out just power runs in the chart (where we pull offensive linemen), which we used on 14 of those runs. Snyder will pull anyone and everyone; one run we pulled the guard and center at the same time, which you don't see very often.

Yep.  The fact that we are rarely running two tights is a clear indication of how much confidence this staff has in its current offensive line.

I just keep thinking about how much we pushed their line around on both sides of the ball and fistpumping to myself.

I would gladly pay 15 dollars for a season worth of _FAN break downs. This stuff is fantastic. Thanks for all you do.

The 5 wide sets were huge all night. Causing OU to burn timeouts, and ultimately creating the huge play to Thompson on 3rd and 12.

What is your opinion on the Play Action QB Power we used a few times last night? I liked them and thought it was unfortunate we couldn't get more out of them.

Which look was that?

I really liked the Zone Read Play Action we used on the throws to Tannahill. It was interesting because we ran the same run action and route scheme 3 other times, but we ran it out of different formations with different personnel. Twice we ran it with Thompson motioning to the fullback position. It really showed the value of getting the defensive alignment you want for the play to be successful. I'll be breaking that down in my first _FANframes this week.

Maybe P/A QB power isn't the right name.

I'm talking about having Klein in the shot gun with Wilson and Hubert in the Backfield. We fake a QB run and then throw. We tired it once early, but the OU defender made a great play keeping the ball away from Lockett.

Okay, you're probably talking about this play on 3rd and goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=ULLH2bTwDuq78&v=LH2bTwDuq78&feature=player_detailpage#t=3057s

I like the concept, but my only critique would be the rub route by the receivers. OU was in man coverage, so the play fake doesn't do a whole lot as the defensive backs have their eyes on the receivers from the snap. I suppose you can hope that one of them peaks at the ball, but the defender on Lockett didn't. Therefore, Harper and Lockett's routes should have converged a little better so we could at least get a pick opportunity for some separation. As it was, it was very difficult for Lockett to get separation on his route and the OU defender was able to make a play on the ball. Also, the linebacker did nice job recovering to pick up Hubert in the flat.

seemed to me that OU really never loaded up the box and or we didn't allow them with our 3-5 wide sets.  whether that was their ego or our scheme i'm not sure.
