Our guy B-easy the consummate professional and premier teammate is taking his injury in stride. Let's hope he can come back soon and help the Heat take down another NBA championship!
Beasley said the injury occurred while he was lifting weights. The toughest part has been resisting the urge to play but he is thinking bigger picture.
"I just got to resist," Beasley said. "Unless my leg is broken, I don't want to sit down. Unless I physically can't walk, I don't want to sit. … It's definitely one of those month-on-top-of-month type of things. I definitely don't' want to prolong it."
Although Beasley was disappointed with the injury possibly slowing his rhythm, he said he will take things slow. There is a strong change he misses Monday's game against the Utah Jazz.
"I'm not focused on anything individually, as long as the team is doing fine," Beasley said. "That's what is so special about our team. One guy steps out and another guy fills his role. There's no love lost. We've got a deep bench. We've got a full roster."
In the interim, Beasley will do mostly weight room and conditioning work. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Beasley is "making progress," but they will miss his contributions.
