How about 2003 at Nebraska? I think they still ended up w/9-ish wins, and it ended the Solich era which was probably a big deal in college football at the time.

Also 2000 NU didn't feel as big to me at the time because of how monumental 98 was. I expected to beat their asses, it was a different feeling.

To be fair, potential wins over end of season top ten is pretty small too. Nobody we played this year would be top ten if we beat them.
It's kind of hard to lose to K-State and not fall out of the top 10.
