I'm pretty sure oscar will have an NIT team next year. Of course, this could partially be due to the schedule.

There are a lot of moving parts and projected development involved in predicting anything at this point, but the moving parts would have to be equal to at least two(if not four) players who are not brand new and have at least some in-game experience in our conf.  That seems pretty improbable to me.   :dunno:

I know that oscar usually has good bounce back years, but I don't think the roster turnover is done yet, and he doesn't have highly rated Chicago kids annually funneled into his program anymore. His spring recruiting has been pretty  :sdeek: so far, and I don't think that's changing anytime soon. We could have a very Asbury-esque roster next year (talent wise, not % of players from Junction City wise).

My projection assumes Foster returns and plays more like he did as a freshman FWIW.

Nigel (JR)  Stokes (FR)
Marcus (JR) Brown (FR)
Westicles (JR) Edwards (SR)
Malek (So) Wade (FR)
Hurt (SR) DJamer (JR) Bolden (JR) Dante (FR)

Team has some experience to it. Woolly never had a team with that talent level and experience. Should finish 4-5th in the big 12. Still have one more player to add the roster.

I disagree, the 05-06 cats with Massey, Cartier, Fred Peete, and Lance Harris was more talented.  Hell, Tyler Hughes would be the best shot blocker and rebounder on next years team.

1) Nigel / Stokes
2) Marcus / Barry
3) Westicles / Edwards
4) Malek / Wade
5) Hurt / DJamer(Health) / Bolden (Health) / Dante

12

Add one more + DJamer or Bolden replacement.

That is a terrible basketball team.

It is actually a pretty talented team, with a decent coach it should be a #5-6 Big 12 team and a decent tourney team.

That team was so young.

Wildly Inconsistent (JR) Freshman (FR)
Who Knows At This point (JR) Freshman (FR)
Pretty Good (JR) Giant Disappointment (SR)
No Offense (SO) Freshman (FR)
No Defense, No Hops (SR) INJURED RESERVE (JR) Freshman (FR)

I'm pretty meh on this roster, and it will probably get worse.

I maintain that a couple frosh need to contribute meaningfully immediately for us to stand much of a chance at not being terrible.
Even if Marcus played all next year like he did in our non-con this year, I am still not sure that the rest could fill in the gaps.

Some guys will get better and maybe much better. It happens. But I agree at least two of the new guys need to be valuable contributors as well.

Our noncon will be fairly tough again next year. Road games at UGA and TAMU, Colo St in ICT, UNC/MIZZ/NW in KC, and a TBD SEC team. That's five P5 games plus a well coached Colo St team that just won 27 games this year.

Good point. I forgot about all those return games already on the slate. Will be interesting to see if oscar tries to move some of these.

only the GA and ATM games are "moveable" imo but I will never underestimate oscar's powers of self-preservation

Makes more sense now.

I'm not sure about this Ervin kid from JUCO visiting this weekend.

if you think ron bailey knows anything about cobb's eligibility, you're wrong.

Checked some of Ervin's stats.  He had two triple-double's this year with a handful that were close.  He had 11 double-doubles, and those were a mix of points and rebounds and points and assists.

He scored in double digits In 28/32 games.

He was Region 2 POY.  Some of his playoff games are archived on NJCAA TV.

Kid can definitely play. Saw his highlights and was very impressed with him. VERY tough defender too.
