my guess is that oscar doesn't actually realize that he's making these offers

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Jfc. How many ppl are leaving?

looks like it's time for currie to fire another coach because of an impending mass exodus

Funny thing is when Frank left he wasn't recruiting kids left and right.
well, he did "sign" an NBA center
Are you talking about that Center who can't stay on a team because of his off court issues?
Would take.

Ok. You'd be the same team. Because he wouldn't be on the court.

I have heard Upshaw has a booze problem. I think he would of had a shot in college town and being on an older team. I don't think it is fair to assume what would happen if he went to State.

Wade with 28 as St. John repeats. Tight game playing Central Plains for the third time this year, fun to watch.

If you were expecting oscar to be checking in on a signed commit instead of out on the recruiting trail, you would not have been disappointed.

I went to the semifinal game on Friday. Wade obviously has some good offensive skills, but I came away very concerned about his defense. St John primarily played a 2-3 zone and he never had to guard anyone, yet he managed to be in foul trouble most of the game. He got his 2nd foul about :30 into the 2nd quarter and had to sit the rest of the half. He will need to improve his overall strength quite a bit to compete with the bigs in the Big 12.

The most impressive thing I saw him do was his ball handling. There were a few occasions when he grabbed a rebound or steal and took off leading a fast break. He also threw down about 4 or 5 dunks, and seemed to do it rather effortlessly.

Did Wade show any offensive range at all?

In the game I watched he showed a variety of offensive skills. He has a very smooth shooting motion on his jumpshot. On one play he caught the ball on the wing, gave a pump fake, and drove to the basket for a dunk.

His skill set is more of a SF than a PF. Kind of reminded me of Kyle Wiltjer for Gonzaga.

Note: He was at least 6" taller than everyone else on the floor. It's very difficult to make an accurate assessment based on one game vs. 2A Kansas team. He is obviously very talented though.

He was. Nice gesture by him for sure, but who knows what 3 star DIR in the 2016 class we missed out on Saturday because oscar didn't travel to seal the deal.

I saw him play three times the last week or so, substate finals, state semis and state final. The semis on Friday were by far his worst game, I thought his best was at substate. Berean Academy had a stud PG who was keeping them in the game, they switched Wade on to him in the second half and I'm pretty sure he never scored on him. Wade showed much better defensive decision making and timing on blocks to avoid fouls in that game than the semis on Friday. He's very smooth on offense, good body control, nice jumper with great range, soft touch inside and his FT% speaks for itself. SJ assistant says in practice he'll just drain ridiculous amounts of 3s sometimes, like 23/25.

Obviously, he carried the team on Saturday against an athletic and determined Central Plains team. I was also concerned about his defensive performance on Friday, but apparently this past week he has been battling sickness. I did think he looked a bit more sluggish really in both games than last week. It wasn't post defense to be sure, but he efforts against the B.A. PG give some hope he can move laterally with 3s and definitely 4s at the next level.

Rebounding was a bit of a concern. With as good as hands as he shows in the rest of his game, I thought he should have snatched a few more boards, several he got a hand on and lost, etc.

After watching him play a few times last year, he is noticeably more assertive this year, definite team leader, etc. I watched games this week with people who watched him and SJ for the first time, and they were surprised how balanced SJ was as a whole, expected more emphasis on offense to be on Wade. I think that's accurate; even in the final on Saturday when he had over the half the points there were times when I thought they should have given him the ball and didn't, they definitely don't over-rely on him, otherwise I think his stats would be more dominant (also if he wasn't limited to 18 min/game in their blowouts.) I would love to see his /100 min stats.

TL, DNR version: I really hope he works out well for us. I'm pretty LBBRIQ, so I'll avoid any strong statements either way. I do think the comparisons to Ron Baker (and Q) are more apt than those to Josh Reid for style of play and role he could play (though it's been awhile since I've seen Josh play). He does need to bulk up and some more lateral quickness would not hurt. He will be a hard worker and good intrinsic values guy, for sure. Tucks will love him.

Is he a '15 or a '16? He graduated HS in '14 and was unable to get into Oregon so went the juco route.

Best case scenario is we West Virginia this team. Bobby lost masses of ppl last year, but was able to replace them. Not gonna happen tho.

He kept his best player, who happened to be their point guard, who also happened to be a senior. Blowing up the team would be a disaster for oscar.
