Will Milwaukee native and proven commodity oscar Weber get a look!?  It hurts to be spurned by a fiery douche bag in favor of a lesser program.  Sometimes your program needs a warm awkward hug.    :horrorsurprise: :ohno:

Sources: Virginia Tech to hire Marquette coach Buzz Williams

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--virginia-tech-to-hire-marquette-coach-buzz-williams-214413688.html

Just had him on one of the CBS studio chats with the group.  Okay-ish interview.  I really wonder about the comparo to Frank.

The lead benefactor for Marquette basketball is Dick Strong, a spectacular maniacal narcissist of the highest order.  Good for Buzz.

They pay A LOT

Dick Strong used to pay Crean over $200K a year to come give a couple talks at Strong Funds.  I assume he's still doing that.

So who do we want if he did leave?  I'll say Brad, but would really like either hire.

Brad or Doug is a win-win.  I would like to see Foster in the pinwheel though.

Yes, and it would be a huge mistake to hire someone else.

, A scenario where we could get both would be amazeballs, Brad's X's & O's and Doug recruiting

I guess if we had to look tomorrow, we could hire someone other than Brad, but I'd be floored if it wasn't him.

I really like Brad, but hiring because of his connection to K-State and overall experience would be a much better reason than hiring him for what his team did this season. It was nice, but teams are made fun of (and often fail) for hiring coaches like Brad all the time.

Legitimate question, have been people been using that as a reason for him being hired on this board? Haven't paid attention. I mean, a season like this certainly doesn't hurt, and all thing being equal then it might become a factor, but lots of bad hires are definitely made using that criterion.

I would imagine the main reason that people are bringing him up (and I realize much of it is gEing) is because he had a really great season (and it was a great season).

I think he did a good job while he was here as an assistant as well.

Next year will be a much better indicator of how good of a head coach Brad is.

Brad should be at SFA for at least two more years (during which he will likely have a successful run as head coach), hopefully around that time oscar will be on his way out. I think he'll be the best option for us at that point in time. I don't think Doug will still be available in two years. Speaking of Doug, if Ford is fired soon is there any chance of the Pokes looking at him?
