Dick Strong used to pay Crean over $200K a year to come give a couple talks at Strong Funds.  I assume he's still doing that.

I really like Brad, but hiring because of his connection to K-State and overall experience would be a much better reason than hiring him for what his team did this season. It was nice, but teams are made fun of (and often fail) for hiring coaches like Brad all the time.

Legitimate question, have been people been using that as a reason for him being hired on this board? Haven't paid attention. I mean, a season like this certainly doesn't hurt, and all thing being equal then it might become a factor, but lots of bad hires are definitely made using that criterion.

I would imagine the main reason that people are bringing him up (and I realize much of it is gEing) is because he had a really great season (and it was a great season).

I think he did a good job while he was here as an assistant as well.

Brad should be at SFA for at least two more years (during which he will likely have a successful run as head coach), hopefully around that time oscar will be on his way out. I think he'll be the best option for us at that point in time. I don't think Doug will still be available in two years. Speaking of Doug, if Ford is fired soon is there any chance of the Pokes looking at him?
