This was my question. Many are jumping to the conclusion that Schultz would take more votes from the Democratic candidate than from Trump. That doesn't seem obvious to me.https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/1089980357011742722
I'd vote Trump over Schultz.
He sold the Supersonics to people that wanted to move out of town or something like that.
it's not that people are sure that schultz (who spells his name wrong) would take more voters from the democratic candidate, it's that he would introduce more uncertainty. right now in a 1 on 1 race, trump loses. a three-way race is less certain.
Schultz believes that Trump will get reelected if the Dems nominate a far-light candidate, and he's concerned they'll do so.
