who knew that people who could talk to animals can also talk to dead animals?  huh.  reminds me of when I was a kid and a bunch of kids would play with the ouija board and everyone would end up asking ghosts what was going to happen to them in the future.  I could not get it through my friends' heads that these are ghosts, how the eff would they know what was going to happen in the future?

You hung out with real idiots.

Wow.  I have heard of the doc and teacher loan forgiveness, but not for all degrees.  That is just Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

If you are an out-of-stater who moves to a "Rural Opportunity Zone" County, you will pay no state income tax for 5 years. If you are a recent college grad and move to one of those counties, the state will pay off your student loans, up to $15,000.

http://www.kansascommerce.com/index.aspx?NID=320

I would eff with my hillbillie neighbors constantly if they were paying off my student loans.

Kids today haven't changed, the adults have changed. What adults accept is what's changed. The lack of demanding is what's changed.

I would say adults haven't really changed, either. Or at least it is a change that hasn't really stopped ever. Every generation is softer than the last. WGAF kids will be fine.

It's a pretty sweet deal if you have parents in a ROZ County. Go to college, establish residence, take out $15,000 in loans, and move back in with your parents after graduation just long enough to establish residence. Get your $15,000 check from the state, then go find a job.

It was good times for K-Staters. Frank was speaking in front of hundreds of Wichita teachers and K-State was coming off an Elite 8.

When did "hoodies" become associated with ghetto fashion?  I know I don't get out much, but back in the day (junior high, high school) I used to wear them quite often, as did many of my schoolboy pals.  We didn't call them "hoodies," but rather simply hooded sweatshirts.  They also had a convenient pouch in front.  If it was a cool fall or winter day and we were out playing football or basketball on the playgrounds after school, that, along with blue jeans, was the standard attire.  It had nothing to do with "ghettoes" at all.
When did they make the transition from standard teenage attire to ghetto fashion?

Based on his twitter and FB accounts, the one thing that Bender def has up on Sams is maturity. Agree with you, very classy kid. I saw his fiancee on the way into the game (back of her shirt said "Bender fiancee"). Seems pretty responsible for his age.

Marble-sized news!

Some of you may remember when I announced I was putting out my tomatoes on Jan 31?  Well as of this morning's daily tomatoes plant check, I can proudly announce we have 7 marble sized tomatoes on the plant. Approximately the size of a 'shooter marble.'  Two finger sized squash also on the squash plant.  FYI the tomatoes is an "early girl" variety..my wife's assignment here in seal beach will be over within 7 weeks. If we gain another assignment in California we may try to take the garden along with our move. If not then the neighbor will reap the benefit of the garden.

Any interest in getting some KC Metro GPC'rs together for a poker game?

Moved here a few months ago and I really don't care for the long drive/smoke/everything else that comes with a casino but I wouldn't mind finding a home game to play some hold 'em every once in awhile. Is there any interest from people on here to get a game going?
