I think all of these require you to be enrolled into a tribe.

I think Warren might have enough DNA to be a member of the Cherokee tribe, but a DNA test doesn't prove that her descent is actually Cherokee, so she would probably need to actually identify who the family member was to qualify.

Because 1. The grants don't cover as much as you think and 2. I somehow didn't qualify. She might have been 1/4th, but if you saw her, you saw it. We found all kinds of crazy Indian artifacts at her farm when she passed away 2 springs ago in storage. I should probably do some more research. Her farm was on the Santa Fe Trail and the land had been passed on from generations before her.

If your mom knows the names of her great-grandparents, it should be easy enough to check the rolls of whatever tribe she would have been from. Get citizenship if at all possible. It will make college cheaper for your kids.

Every generation has to register, if a parent isn't registered then you can't register even with direct lineage proof. If a parent is registered but you don't then your kids will be unable to register.

That's how I understand it at least.
