True, but it's unique in college football.  And seriously, where/when did you go to high school?  Basically every helmet I can remember had something on it.

1991 Perry (OK) Junior High...solid maroon
1992 Derby, KS...solid green
1993 Lewis-Palmer HS (Monument, CO)...I think they actually had horses on their helmets, but I didn't play football there
1994 Florence, CO...it was either solid blue or solid yellow (can't remember)
1995 Halstead, KS...I didn't play football here either.  Maybe there was something on the helmets.

All of those helmets are awful except for our's, Florida State's, and Washington State's.

Something tells me that if we had a plain silver helmet, we would not get on the list next to Notre Dame and Penn State.
