I just like the idea of calibrating police shotguns to be non-lethal

If nothing else, it's a good reminder for protestors to eat their Kentucky meals.

For fat necks. Srsly. There was a study a few months ago that revealed that Egyptians were one of the fattest countries in the world. It made headlines here because they were even fatter than us. I picture Captain Kirk: "set stun guns to BMI Egypt!"

So, Egyptians are obviously amazing
at protests. Like, the best in the world,
statistically speaking (tempo free, this still holds true, I think).
So,
here is a protest against
the governor of Alexandria, who has dual nationality, (which is obviously a very dangerous and unpatriotic thing to have)
and of course
there was an American flag
burnt and,
most importantly,
a butternut squash
on a stick

The old balding guy right behind the stars of the flag is the best.  Just straight forward.  He has no need for cucumber arms/horns/whatevs to convey his point.  I mean, you look at him, and you know whats up, unlike that weird squash that looks like it put it's lipstick on during a roller coaster ride.

The lady in red with the peace sign. Can you please translate the peace sign to English? I am guessing it doesn't really mean peace.

It must mean something shocking.  I mean, that kid next to her seems to be shocked by it.

Are we really not going to comment about the guy behind the squash wearing a "FREEDOM" shirt with what appears to be an american muscle car on it?

Maybe their issue is the dual nationality guy isn't letting them have monster trucks?

I had to stare at the picture for about 20 full seconds (looking at every person's arms) until I figured out what you were talking about.

1. That pic

2. This all Goddamned day:

“One of the lessons is if you’re overseas and ever think you may be in trouble, leave,” he said. “Run out of town as fast as you can.”

3. If I were felix rex, I'd be pretty rough ridin' sick of rough ridin' Egypt and rough ridin' Egyptians by now.

So, the Da'esh affiliate that's operating in Sinai keeps getting its social media accounts suspended. So lately, it's taken to hacking the top Facebook pages in Egypt to post their statements (resulting in fantastic standoffs with a vigilante group of pro-military hackers called "The Egyptian Cyber Army" (the ones that jammed the satellite signal of Bassem Youssef's old show back in 2014).  Anyway, today they hacked the pro-gov news page "Tahya Masr" ("long live Egypt"...its a Sisi gov slogan) and in addition to their usual tomfoolery w/ threatening statements, pics of beheaded Copts and what have you, they also included this Space Balls reference mocking the Egy military's efforts to locate them:

Egyptians are very elite at recklessly disregarding danger in the name of getting a good video. IED selfies are maybe my favorite Cairo social media thing.

Do you have an emergency bag packed in the event your building starts to melt?
