hyatt card plat status appears to kick in upon activation. I got the card today, logged into hyatt and I was a gold member. activated the card online and went back to hyatt and refreshed and I was a platinum member. then linked to mlife and now I'm gold with them. pretty sweet! and hopefully it gets me a room upgrade at the aria in feb
Check Cyber Monday for deals at the aria if you can cancel. I got a helluva deal on a suite there last year
tell me more about cyber monday, slash should i wait until closer to departure (July) to book a room at aria? i am also gold Mlife. tia
i realize this got lost in the shuffle of a good ol fashioned southwest airlines value-off, but any aria pro tips would be much appreciated
I get emails from them all the time. I hate spam emails but for vegas hotels I make exceptions and put up with them. I dunno if it has anything to do with my Hyatt stuff or just that I gamble a good deal with MLife hotels when I'm there. I got this one a couple days ago which says exclusive rates and two free buffets per day which is pretty solid. no idea if you can use it or not.
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=930&host=offer&code=ARBFT51this one is a $100 resort credit and a view upgrade. it says you can call on both of these and mention the offer code so if you can't get the computer to work you might try calling.
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=930&host=offer&code=ARVLTN5idk if there's something wrong with their system right now or if it's because I'm on my work computer but I can't get it to show me room rates right now. the best I've ever seen for aria has been $79 a night and I know I've seen it recently. those are usually weekdays. weekends they do a lot of $109 - $129 type rates.
it's a pretty great deal when you're in that price range because it's nice as hell but they built it at the absolute wrong time in american history to build a mega huge fancy hotel in las vegas, so they have to cut prices to compete with the not as nice hotels.
I did get a view upgrade last time I was there and the guy said it was because I was a gold member. it was also the middle of the week because we were there for a convention my wife attended. things are different on weekends. if you want a better shot at an upgrade try sandwiching a $50 in between your credit card and drivers license at check in. then ask if there are upgrades available. sometimes it works and they upgrade you, sometimes it doesn't and they give you the $50 back. I have not actually tried this at aria but have seen it work at other MGM properties and the flamingo. I didn't give the guy at aria a tip last time, he actually just offered the upgrade to me right up front.
