there were no hard feelings.  i believe that he was planning on retiring in the near future anyways.  he was in charge of a lot of the stadium renovations and did a majority of the planning for the mnf game.  might as well go out while everyone loves ya.

Don't look now, but they're in first place with a 2 game lead on the rest of the division.

Granted, they'll lose the next 2 after the bye most likely. @houston & @indy.  Of course as of right now the toughest team in the next 9 weeks after that looks to be Seattle.

I don't see how they will win @Indy but @Houston is win-able.  Even if we drop 2 we are still in first place.

Weis had emergency gall bladder surgery today.  Docs wanted to do it yesterday but Weis refused because it would interfere with the game.  Nothing too serious and he's expected to make a full recovery.

And if they'd beaten the Chiefs, they'd be 4-5.

That doesn't really prove a point.  You could give all the teams an extra win and they'd still combine to be less than .500.

10-6, playoffs. It's the NFL. There are five new division winners per year, on average. Chiefs are in a weak division. With fans in the seats at the New Arrowhead the Chiefs will hold their own at home. They'll be favored in five -- maybe six -- of their home games. Their road schedule isn't brutal w/ winnable games at Cleveland, at St. Louis, at Oakland and at Seattle. The defense is a concern but I think they can finish in the top half of the league. I'm pumped about Charlie and Romeo being on the sidelines and Todd Haley growing as a head coach rather than spending all his time calling fecesty plays and gambling on fourth-and-ridiculous.

The key, as many have said, is the home opener on MNF. Beat the Chargers (Chiefs are only 5.5-pt dogs) and they might get on a roll early with games against Cleveland and San Francisco in weeks 2 and 3. Then the bye in week 4, giving the national media plenty of time to take notice

And yes, I pick the Chiefs to make the playoffs every year.  :embarrassed:

Doesn't matter one bit if they suck.  We're still 3-0

Neither does the combined record after 3 weeks. A third of the games in it are the Chiefs' wins. San Diego is the favorite to win the AFC West: if they suck, then the Chiefs' chances of winning the West and making the playoffs is all the better. Cleveland sucks, but if you want to go to the playoffs you have to win those games on the road. San Fran was picked to win the West, but they're now falling apart, and the Chiefs demolished them. Again, what you should do as a playoff team.

Nobody else in the AFC West has shown signs of a pulse, so every win for KC is bigger than the one before it.

I'm not saying that they aren't doing what they need to.  It's just funny how everyone is overreacting to victories over what appear to be 3 very poor teams.

Not a Chiefs fan here, but pretty lame argument to say, "Being 3-0 against these 3 teams shouldn't be something to be happy about." Last year they would of been 1-2 at best in these three games. There's improvement there whether you want to believe it or not.
