Kansas State has two games remaining, at Baylor and against Texas in Manhattan, the self-styled Little Apple. (Manhattan, Kan., is the Little Apple the way Honey Boo-Boo is the Little Miss America, but I digress.)

This probably deserves to go in a different thread since it's relatively complimentary, but check out this statement by the fat squawk writer:QuoteKansas State has two games remaining, at Baylor and against Texas in Manhattan, the self-styled Little Apple. About that Kansas State rant: My bad BY JOSEPH GOODMAN[email protected]It’s long past time for me to punch myself in the face, recognize greatness for what it is and enjoy this special run by Kansas State.A few weeks ago in this space, I wrote a regretfully amateurish column about the Wildcats. The premise of the column — nobody outside of Manhattan, Kan., wants to watch Kansas State in the BCS title game — was sound enough, but backing that up with arguments such as “LHC Bill Snyder is boring” was just immature, never mind irrelevant.
HEISMAN WATCH(Not a representation of my ballot if the season ended today.)1. Manti Te’o, senior linebacker Notre Dame. 2. Collin Klein, senior quarterback, Kansas State. 3. Barrett Jones, r-senior center, Alabama.
Should we start a new thread "Media no longer hates us, we get respect, what happened to that chip on our shoulder?"http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/11/15/3099468/about-that-kansas-state-rant-my.html#storylink=cpyQuoteAbout that Kansas State rant: My bad BY JOSEPH GOODMAN[email protected]It’s long past time for me to punch myself in the face, recognize greatness for what it is and enjoy this special run by Kansas State.A few weeks ago in this space, I wrote a regretfully amateurish column about the Wildcats. All it took for the Big12 to overtake the SEC, apparently, was losing Texas A&M. I know, that makes no sense, but that’s the beauty of college football.

Notre Dame also played no teams from the FCS – Football Championship Subdivision – this season. K-State and Oregon each played two.

No, the Ducks' defense isn't great, but they're going to score 40 or 50 or maybe even 60 on you. Can your team top that? Nobody has yet. Nobody has come close. Only Southern California finished within 11 points of the Ducks, and USC has perhaps the country's top NFL prospects at quarterback and wide receiver.
