Can't you just install like one of those ones that you can detach and has a hose and you can hold it with your hand and manipulate it how you want?  That's how they all are in Europe so I assume it's better (but I don't know why).

But then you only have one hand to shampoo, lather, etc.

ours is on a rod thing so you can adjust it as high or low as you want and tilt it anyway you want. then you can unhook it or whatever and hold it if you want to hold it.

ours is kind of like this:

That looks much nicer than I imagined. The one in my hospital shower looks like something you would find in an RV.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the correct thread but here we go anyways:

I am 6'3 and have always struggled with being able to wash my hair comfortably in the shower. I'm finally fed up with this and have decided to take immediate action. I read online that an S pipe may solve my problem.

This brings me to my question I would like answered: Do any of you other tall GE'rs have any solutions to this problem. I'm mostly worried about disconnecting the standard pipe and putting myself at risk for a basilisk encounter. Thanks in advance!
Look, if you are working on a shower then you are going to run into a basilisk so just get over that fear now

What happened MH?

It's a long story, but the basics are Crohn's disease flare up > appendicitis + small carcinoid tumor > thrombosis of the splenic and inferior mesenteric veins. I should be getting out tomorrow.

The shower head thing we got for the new shower has a rain head, handheld, and some body jets. I will report back about it in 3 weeks.

I appreciate it, Emo. I got diagnosed in 2003. I'm used to dealing with it, but this has been the worst flare up yet. However, it's because the drugs they were using to treat my Crohn's was hiding the appendicitis. Not much you can do about that when dealing with an autoimmune disease. It's been a long 14 days. I'm ready to get out of here.

Thanks, 'clams. I'll eat the crap out of that pizza once my GI tract can handle it (I love pizza).

I might have died had the surgeon not taken my appendix on a whim during exploratory surgery. Prednisone is a mumped up drug that can mask a lot of problems. I'm not dying, though.

my mother had crohn's disease and died when the doctors didn't notice other stuff (true story, not rough ridin' around).  to be fair to the doctors, she probably would have died anyways, even if diagnosed more rapidly.

anyways, be careful.

Question for elite construction/HVAC cats. How important is it to have fiberglass encapsulated lining on your HVAC system? Our new house apparently was built with just fiberglass lining (?), which I've heard can be bad for the lungs long-term. I am a distance runner for my career and I moonlight as an opera singer so I need my lungs for a long long time.
Do you mean duct board?

It will last a long time and be safe as long as it was installed correctly.

I'm sorry to hear that, sys. It is an awful disease. Thank you for your support.

I mean, I guess? Those were the terms I jotted down when I was on the phone talking to potential inspectors. This one guy went out of his way to call me back later and talk to me about encapsulated fiberglass lining or whatever. So our house hasn't been inspected yet, but this is something that'll show up on an official home inspection, right?

Can you HVAC studs give me some terms to ask the inspector/builder about? Stuff that, like, I should definitely make sure they check? I will write them down and bring them into the inspection with me.
