Mowing tonight, too.  Grass hasn't really been growing much since the rain turned off.  Still mostly green.  Also I bought a machete/saw combo and went to town on these shrubs that got out of control.  I let my imagination wander and found myself running point on a SOG mission into Laos.  We never made contact but I knew Charlie was out there.  I could smell him all around me.  Mission complete just before dark, called for extract at LZ bravo, popped smoke and headed in for chow.  Racked out pretty hard that night, even slept through some mortar fire.  Fuckin' Charlie.

Middle of summer is obviously the best time to trim shrubs, emo.

Getting really settled into my new house.  I have four bathrooms and it is a real mother trucker cleaning up after people.  House maintenance sucks nuts.  I am starting up the mower tonight.  The new sod is looking really good.  I bought some orbit timers that have been solid.  It is a poor man's irrigation system, but it works for me.  The new sod has a few spots here and there, but I will deal with it later (new dirt/grass seed).  Water grass is sprouting in certain places and I am figuring out what the hell to do.  Got some new plants a week and a half ago that are the opposite of emo emaw's charlie sitch.  Really jacked about my blower and trimmer sharing the same batteries.  The trimmer came with 2 batteries and the blower came with 1 so I have 3 batteries to eff around with.  It's the little things you guys.

My old house was so much less work and I am missing it.  I outgrew it unfortunately.

Sidenote: I went from a 2 bedroom house to a 5 bedroom house.  Spent like 10 grand in furniture the past month.  Furniture salesman are just the worst.  One doucher of a sales male genitals gave me grief over my smokin hot k-state shirt.  He liked flood aggie and I asked him how much he enjoys his 3 and 9 football seasons.  He then gave me some basketball smack.  It was just the worst convo in some time.

I have to buy a mower now. Is craigslist the way to go or should I go to Sears or something so I can get it with a warranty?

I like mine from Sears. Comes with a solid warranty. Figure I'll keep if for years and years.

Push.
I would just buy a $200 push mower at Lowes and use it until runs into the ground and then get another one.

A good push mower is cheap.  Last one I had was a Toro self propelled.  It was awesome.  It had a guaranteed to start thingy and it never took more than two pulls to get it going.  We had it ten years, changed oil every other summer, and neglected the crap out of it in general.  It worked like new every time.  Would get again if I didn't have a huge lawn now.  Also, it was like $300 or something.

Definitely agree here.  I have a Toro self propel as well and it works like a dream with little upkeep.  I've had it for several years now and it has been amazing.

Yea, Toro self-propelled with the guaranteed start are the bee's knees.

Why does a single guy living alone need a 5 bedroom house?

Oh wait, transformers

My brother is moving in with me and I needed a decent office to house the journals I use frequently.  Plus, I needed a tax write-off due to the farm I inherited and my family's accountant said it was a good idea to deduct some interest so figured why not.  Definitely regretting the decision.

Very true.  I definitely down sized, but took the money and invested it into more farmland.  I was able to add roughly 20 acres onto my farm which will be great come tax season (along with the new house).  Plus the income from the farm addition will be nice as well which will offset some of the taxes on the toys.  My family's accountant showed me the numbers and it made sense to not throw money away staying in my old house.  I miss it, but it made sense plus it would give my younger brother a place to live while he finishes his schooling.
