-
WVU's defense is so terrible.
-
wow. nice run D
-
Maybe we should be more worried about Branch Davidian Aggie?
-
Why do the couch burners get loud for first downs? You're supposed to be all shush when your O is on the field.
-
these teams are horrible. would be really embarrassing if we lose to either.
-
West Virginia is last years Baylor. Same team.
-
morgantown looks like garbage.
-
Petros . Hopefully he is on the sideline for our game next week. He said on his radio show awhile back that KSU might be the loudest college stadium he's ever been to. He was on USC's sideline for the 2002 game.
-
Morgantown smells like burning coal and feces
-
This is gonna be such a fun game. What a treat! :D (I wanted cheesy smile guy. Not regular smile guy)
-
I should have picked either one of these teams in the Ed contest.

My glorious pick coacaine aggie has put up 16 in 8 minutes

Things that could score against West Virginia's defense? Jeff Schwinn

In n Out burgers are already made and sitting under a heat lamp. Whataburger doesn't make it until you order it, so it's fresh, hot, and better. They just give you a number and bring it out in 3-4 minutes.

No, I love Petros. I already mentioned him in the thread. I was pretty excited when minor-league baseball ended a few weeks ago because Petros and Money didn't get preempted for AA baseball.
-
Hey Petros' radio show out in LA is pretty good. It's a schtick that gets old after a while, but I'm glad they're letting him branch out from the Pac12. I don't think he's ever said anything bad about us.
-
In N Out is made to order wth are you n00bs talking about?

I guess I'll have to try In-n-Out again next time I'm near one.

Proof today in this game that we can hold these guys to field goals and we're good

We will also be able to get to Geno and rattle him ala Landry.
-

TT or Lockett (if Bill lets him return punts again with TT available) will return one too. Either would have taken that one back untouched.
-
Bennett seems to be rolling the dice with his schemes. I forsee WV getting a big play TD
-
Meanwhile, MU's defense softer than that fat photographer in the endzone. So happy I don't have to defend that SEC trash team.
-
Coonskin aggie's run defense kind of sucks, no?
-
Coonskin aggie's run defense kind of sucks, no?
Confirmed as a true story...also confirmed pass defense.
You think Chapman and Malone let some branch davidian or couch burners catch and run down the sideline? Mob no.

Coonskin aggies pass defense suck too

WV employing the 2008 Ron Prince d now. God are they horrible

Is it realistic to think that Art Briles would leave Baylor for Arkansas or Tennessee when those jobs open up?...i sure as hell hope so

Poor Phil's just guessing with his defensive calls at this point...nothing he can do

So blessed to have the only MLB that can handle these spread offenses. Thank you junior
Anyone else notice the Ames like press box there in Morgantown?

They should just keep score by defensive stops. Three probably wins.

This is way more fun to watch than an SEC defensive battle. eff defense (unless it's my school, then go defense).

lol at Mizzou & A&M going to the SEC. A&M left to get out of UT's shadow. I live in Tulsa and can't see the A&M/Arky game, but I can see the Texas St/Nevada game. That's a good move for exposure. Also, the only reason I can see the Mizzou/UCF game is because it's @UCF so FSN owns it.

Why Baylor? I don't think it really matters who wins. Neither is going to win the Big 12.

I want Baylor to win so all the dumbass media pundits and WVU fans will shut the hell up about coal aggie coming in and winning the Big 12 in their first year. :jerk:

Remeber the beginning of the Tech game when Josh Moore knocked down the long pass to Michael Crabtree? hemmy went nuts after that play.

WVU certainly has a better shot than Baylor.

Hmm, yes. But I think either way we will have to beat both for a Dr. Pepper crown.

I want Baylor to win to cheapen Geno's heisman stock.
-
Austin goes down!
-
Lol those refs better be careful leaving after the game.
If WVU loses the refs can just blend in with all the WVU nutsack riders leaving town
-
Baylor's defensive schemes are just horrid

Snyder took back all his d schemes when Bennet left town
-
God Geno really is amazing though.

It's like WVU's playing on varsity mode..

Wait till defense falls apart and throw it 40 yards over the top?
Carson Coffman could do this.
-
Baylor's D looks very KSU 2007/2008ish
-
Geno and Tavon will look very adorable on the sidelines as our O racks up 40 minutes in TOP
-
why does baylor always have a shitty o-line?

Dear Gino,
Here are some ideas for all that time u will have on your hands October 20th...
1. Ride your stationary bike.
2. Story time with offensive linemen.
3. Rogaine assistance for Holgorsen.
Sincerely,
LE
-
Welp, at least we still have a shot to be the team that exposes them... :dunno:
-
Geno will get his passing yards but he will turn it over and WVU will be kicking a lot of field goals. Also, no way WVU can stop the Cats controlling 70% of the TOP and marching down for td after td. Cats 42 WVU 31
-
Collin's still in the Heisman mix... :ksu:
-
Collin's still in the Heisman mix... :ksu:
CKHeisman will be the frontrunner come Oct. 21
-
Baylor gonna Baylor. yawn.
-
Nick Florence's arm strength is so pud
-
i hope geno smith tears his achilles or something
-
Baylor gave up 400+ yards to Sam Houston State which in turn lost @ central pig aggie
-
If Miami wins their game today they are probably the 3rd best team in the ACC. And look what we did to them. :runaway:
Also they're averaging like 40 pts a game not counting the 13 the :lynchmob: held them to.
-

They better put it in the endzone again :shakesfist:

If I was the punter for WVU...id be getting pak'd on sidelines during the game :drink:
-
Baylor's defensive schemes are just horrid
Must be the ol' Phil Bennett "Let's blitz on every down (even though we can't get much pressure on the QB)!" scheme that caught your attention. It's proven effective in a spread-offense league like the Big XII. :shy:

Correct. This defense scheme has been on the defensive since 2000.
Especially when the backers sell it every play because their timing sucks.
-
never heard of jeane smith. prolly sucks
-
My goodness Petros, Baylor hangin tough! Bet that FG kicker feels like an ass.
-
never heard of jeane smith. prolly sucks
Anyone can throw a 5 yard pass to a wide open receiver.
-
Good god Tavon didn't even look interested on that fake jet and the Baylor D still bit on it.
-
This game is about as laughable and entertaining as the Baylor Washington Bowl game last year. :driving:
-
What in the eff is going on?
-
Lmao WV corner tried to tackle receiver and receiver still makes the play
-
What in the eff is going on?
WVU is being exposed as the crap team they are. Last years Baylor team with RG3 would be winning this game easily.
-
terrance williams has terrific ball focus
-
ONE SCORE GAME !!! :D
-
lets get a stop here bears! :ksu:
-
mother of god
-
OT: How good does Argo look!?
-
Average time per td drive = :38
-
christ almighty
-
Hartman left just in time. Bailey/Austin would blow by him all day long.
-
never heard of jeane smith. prolly sucks
-
Baylor should just onside it after every TD.
-
This is not a football game. This is a rough ridin' 7 on 7 drill at practice.
-
this game pisses me off. tv peeps will be like "wow, what an offensive show" instead of "wow, what shitty defense"
there's no reason that a team should ever score 70 points in a conference game. woof.
-
We'll beat both of these teams by a combined score of 127-3. What a pathetic collection of clowns.
-
terrance williams is a boss
-
Anyone remember a time when a team scores 63 points in regulation and loses? :dunno:
-
ONE SCORE GAME !!! :D
-
Highest scoring conference game ever?
-
uh.. they needed to onside
-
Geno may be one turnover away from losing this
-
OT: do you think oscar's boys will score 63 points against huggs? probably not. :frown:
-
this is just stupid
-
omg that catch :horrorsurprise:
-
Holy crap
-
Geezus. What a catch.
-
Not bad
-
So beating Baylor at home is a heisman statement.
-
-
I've seen better
-
Game. Oh well. Two ridiculous teams
-
they won't be able to stop our run game, but we won't be able to stop their pass game. we are going to have to snyder-ball the crap out of our game so that they don't get many chances and hope that we stop them once. :bill:

the downside of winning is that any talk of kstates weakness is hated.
in reality, we're still a very weak passing defense. but we only have to stop them once. i believe we can do that.
-
Spoiler alert...
WV defense gave up 488 yards to...yes you guessed it...James Madison
-
Look what an average Maryland D did to WVU. They can light it up against gawd awful Ds but against average to good Ds they turn very average.

This is true. BUT we are pretty damn good in red zone D. That and we are light years better than them on special teams and we WILL Snyderball the eff out of them.
-
all I know is that the WVU game will be shocking!
-
Both defenses are beyond horrible, but WVU scares me more than Baylor because WVU's offense is mostly short passes, which we allow all night long.
-
As long as we don't turn the ball over, and effectively run the clock on offense we will be fine. Baylor had one turnover this whole game, an INT on the first drive, and a missed FG. If Baylor eliminate those mistakes, then they win the game. I know it's very Snyderesque, but that's how you find success against these spread teams. Also agree with OK CAT about our pass d...it will need to be much improved
-
all I know is that the WVU game will be shocking!
you're trying too hard
-
sorry you didn't get the pat on the back you wanted. you should just own the stupid crap you say. I do.
-
Man, it was like a video game out there.
-
I think we saw two bad defenses more than amazing offenses, but we will know for sure in a few weeks. If WVU's offense really is that good, woof guys.
-
sorry you didn't get the pat on the back you wanted. you should just own the stupid crap you say. I do.
i say like 12 stupid things a day on here and i'm cool with it.
-
Neither of these teams have much of a shot against the Cats. Their chances for mistakes and turnovers is too high. Also, no way they even sniff slowing down the EMAW running game.
-
Not many turnovers today

He might as well of been throwing against 11 life-sized cutouts of this thing :bill:.
He was amazing. That being said, Baylor has absolutely no pass rush.
-
Neither of these teams have much of a shot against the Cats. Their chances for mistakes and turnovers is too high. Also, no way they even sniff slowing down the EMAW running game.

K well he rough ridin' never turns the ball over so, not sure why you said that in your original statement.
They turned the ball over 22 times last season, by comparison K-State only had 15. The guy is good, but they have only played one defense with a pulse.
-
I know it never works this way, but Baylor should move up and WVU should move down in the rankings.

Baylor should move up

Its like people completely ignore how awful a defensive performance that was.

I'm with you hemmy. These two defenses will both be ranked below 90 in total defense going into next week. Maybe 100+

I seem to remember another QB that never turned the ball over throwing an interception at a critical time against the Snydercats last year. :gocho:

Both top 10 likely...

Okie and Tech at the top 1 & 2
West Virginia has put up their numbers against the 117th, 113th, 8th, and FCS defenses.

Trust me, there won't be a critical moment in our game at WVU. We'll win by 2-3 TD's.
-
Why Baylor? I don't think it really matters who wins. Neither is going to win the Big 12.
WVU certainly has a better shot than Baylor.
Yes, in the same way that I have a better shot than you at winning the powerball if I buy 2 tickets to your 1.
-
They did put up 31 on the 8th ranked Maryland defense. Of course Maryland's other opponents were powerhouses Connecticut, Temple, and the William and Mary.

Yeah he was awful yesterday, the pundits should just ignore the best passing day in the history of the FBS.
The WVU hate by some on here is very weird. You're not any less EMAW if you acknowledge that WVU has an absurdly good offense & Geno Smith is a stud.

Absurdly good offense...no. Very good..yes. Nobody said he didn't have a great game, calm the eff down.

JFC just let people hate whatever they want to hate. Since when do you have to have a logical explanation for why you hate something? Like, I hate kangaroos and I don't have a damn clue why. They are cute and jump high and stuff but I still hate them and get pissed off every time I see one.
-
MiR, I agree with you that the hate is unwarranted, but the love he is getting is too much. He put up those numbers because his team's defense is terrible and he had to. If Leach-era Tech had a defense this horrible this would have been a 2-3 time per year occurrence for many of those Tech QBs. If the 2008 Tech defense was 1/2 as bad as WVU's, we would have hung in that game and Harrell/Crabtree would have done that to us easily.

So he had 6 incompletions on 51 attempts for 635 yards and 8 TDs because of his defense? How does the WVU defense help the offenses efficiency? I'm not quite sure why some of you keep talking about the defense. To quote dlew, we know the defense is bad, jesus christ... The hype and praise of Geno Smith and WVU's offense is well deserved. The defense is a completely different conversation, stop lumping them together.

Usually good defenses get the offense back on the field sooner. In the case of WVU's defense, though, giving up a touchdown in less than 30 seconds is far more effective in getting that offense back on the field than any good defense could ever be.
-
Did anyone actually watch the game? Geno looked very very good. He made throws all over the field, both with good and bad coverage. He's the real deal. Don't expect him to get rattled against us.
-
Geno Smith looked terrifying yesterday. We will have to beat them the same way we beat Baylor last year, and we may not be able to. It's a good thing their D is terrible or we wouldn't have a prayer.

You could pretty much insert that for any good team. "Good thing they aren't better than they are!"
-
As long as we tackle well, stop the run and don't give up the big play, we should win.

I guess. They would have a date with Alabama though if they could just play some D.

I have faith in stopping the run. No matter what we will tackle better than Baylor. I hope we gameplan to stop the big play, as that's exactly what we did with OU.

really have to mention Zimmerman's play. Its good to know that we have deep guys who don't just stand around confused and wonder why they guy from the other team is running past them like the endzones on fire.

Fun fact: We held Duke Johnson to 3.2 ypc. He is averaging 6.9. One of those runs was for 9 yards. We shut him down. I feel like our run D is pretty darn good.

Solid mechanics. GREAT hips.

If his defense didn't suck they would have been up by 21 in the third, he would have got pulled, and had 400 yards for 5 TD like multiple QBs in multiple spread offenses have had.

I agree. People get all caught up with stopping the pass against teams like this, but as long as you can stop the run and not give up 20+ yard touchdown passes, it will be very difficult for a West Virginia or Oklahoma State offense to get touchdowns instead of field goals.

It's almost like once we let a team into the Red Zone, we've got them right where we want them.

they won't be able to stop our run game, but we won't be able to stop their pass game. we are going to have to snyder-ball the crap out of our game so that they don't get many chances and hope that we stop them once. :bill:
Will you ever start to believe?
Dax could be right, depends which secondary shows up for us. If the good one shows up, Dax is wrong. If they don't come to get some TO's, Dax is right. I agree with Dax in that we'll need to dominate TOP to keep that pass offense off the field.

I'm assuming that the kids (as the ED would call them) who are commenting on this thread are the nervous nancies. The older, wiser emaws (grandpas, 80's kids, whatev) are likely the more optimistic ones. But jfc, I hope our defense isn't as scared as some of you guys. Did you not see the entire Baylor secondary biting on all the underneath fakies? Classic PB defense and he should have abandoned it a decade ago, probably after the 2000 OU game.
The key to this game will be keeping everything in front defensively and the YAC...keep it low and we win.
Let's see what the UT defense can do against these guys and go from there.

I'm kind of thinking the super soft d that our secondary was playing against the cream puffs was part of a scheme to get our secondary use to playing 10 yards off the ball.
-
There's a big difference in playing pillowy soft while also wrapping up and tackling well compared to playing pillowy soft while watching the receiver/back run right by you or step over your dive tackle.
I like our style.

Yeah fellas good point. If he would have been sat after the first two possessions of the third quarter he would have been 31-34 for 450 yards and 6 touchdowns. No one would have been impressed with that. My bad, carry on.
-
Pretty straightforward stuff here:
Geno is a very good quarterback, probably the best player in the country, and played an absolutely insane game on Saturday. Baylor's defense especially its secondary isn't very good and played absolutely dreadfully on Saturday.

Yeah. I think it's pretty obvious that Geno is the best player in the nation playing for an otherwise horrible team. He will give them a chance to beat anybody, but I don't think he will be able to pull off very many wins.
