they should have invested into the hill instead.  that’s what brings people to the games.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

EMAW Elites now confirm that certain sports AV updates are on indefinite hold, budget depleted.  :frown:

Dax are we looking at a disaster that rivals the Fyre Festival here?

Maybe.

No, not really. All this on the 25 year back drop of "once we finally do this it'll be no problem getting it paid for" . . . and of course had they even done this 5 years ago, it would have cost them about $100 million dollars less. Had they done the right thing, and just stripped historic KUMS to the studs and gone from there, it would have cost them a lot less.

Executing the Dax Plan for KUMS 5 or 6 years ago costs $200 million dollars and gives them a stadium that's in keeping with the primary architecture on their campus.  While creating all new amenities in the stadium itself.

With all this talk about PE money trying to get into college athletics I think its safe to say KU is going to hop on that train with zero regard to long term costs.

Does KU athletics own the rules of basketball or is owned by some other entity? Would hate to see them have to auction off the rules here in 10 years when PE turns the screws to recoup their investment.

I believe David Booth owns them and lends them to the University.

It was my understanding that the document in question is a facsimile of the Original Rules of Bssketball?

Just wondering what the 2.7 billion dollar NCAA settlement does to KU's stadium plans?  Many schools are changing or dropping their stadium plans.

KU could actually drop a couple of women's sports and still meet Title IX standards as well as the NCAA mandated minimum of 14 sports to be D1. Obviously, blowback would be significant, but do they really need an underwhelming swimming and/or rowing program?

Of course, who knows if those requirements will still be in place in the future.

Potter Lake? Is this true?

Edit: It is true, but they're just spending money ($1M+) to make it better.

They certainly do need more parking around the stadium

Imagine having that quaint little cesspool on the hill and then waiting until the year of our Flying Spaghetti Monster 2024 to make it look like something more than a poorly maintained cattle watering hole.

The money they would bring in from premium Hill parking would more than cover the entire cost of the stade reno

Probably fracking under the hill and needed the water. Hopefully they found gas and can use that to fund the full build.
