West and East are always relative. Do you think everyone was like, "Welp, we all live in the East, because no one has found the West, yet, as far as we know ...."?
Yes, they are relative. The ancient near East and the area of what is now western india (if you want to include it), aren’t western imo. Obv not far eastern either.
From what I’ve read and listened to early Hebrews/Semitic peoples were far more influenced by cultures and peoples from the (near) east than from their west.
There wasn’t really much of a “west” in the Iron Age anyway tho I don’t think.
