If you think about it, the committee has to find 36 at large teams to fill out the field. and every year a handful of average teams get in. This year two more average teams are getting in since SMU and Louisville (both of which would be locks) are banned from the tournament.

The First Four will be four teams that are even more mediocre than usual this year.

Also look at the elite teams.  They have more losses than normal.  Probably a 5 loss team gets on the 1 line this year, which is very rare.

win 2 of 4 of bu, ku, isu and ut.  also don't lose all the games against osu, tcu and tech.  that's all it takes.

2-2 and 3-1 probably does it. That will likely require at least 2 road wins.

It is quite common for teams with 5 or 6 losses to be 1 seeds. At this point I would guess that all of the #1's have at least 5 losses.

In 2012 Michigan State was a #1 with 7 losses. Maryland, OU, and SC () are the only P5 teams with less than 4 losses and there is still 10 games left (including conf. tourneys) so even that isn't out of the question.

I don't understand how Lunardi can put Georgia as a 'next 4 out' team, but leave KSU off.   Both teams have 1 top 50 win. (Georgia beat South Carolina) Georgia has one less loss, but they are 3-2 against teams ranked 51-100, while KSU is 3-0.

I'm pretty sure after they lost to Illinois St.   They will need to win the conference tournament to get in.

Next Four Out

http://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/maryland-terrapins-iowa-villanova-latest-ncaa-mock-bracket-020916

next four out is a pretty big accomplishment for a team as young as ours.  couple the OU win with the respect of being named to the Next Four Out list and i think we have a pretty solid foundation to build on in the coming years.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

We've come too far this season. Anything other than First Four Out is a bust, IMO.

55. Kansas State Wildcats
The Wildcats have been close, then finally broke through and beat then-No. 1 Oklahoma in Manhattan. Kansas State had lost seven of 10 heading into the game with the top-rated Sooners, and lost four of those games by double digits. The Wildcats have been turning the ball over, ranking 10th in the Big 12 in turnover rate.
