Vision, patience/timing, and durability are great skills for ball carriers to have. Where does "skill" fall in line with your "scheme + athletic ability = success" equation?

Snyder helped scheme Klein into Tebow/Manziel type numbers. If only he had their athleticism.  :frown:

First of all, it could be easily debated that Klein didn't have that great of vision as a ball carrier based on the number of times he got skitti brained because he clearly didn't see he was about to get obliterated.   He was a skilled ball handler and very skilled at reading the defense in the read option.   But scheme and blocking propelled his success and it's not even debatable in terms of raw athletic talent and his ability to turn literally nothing into something spectacular relative to the pinnacle of dual QB play in the Snyder era.

So if Dimmell was at odds end with Snyder, can we assume Hayes was pissed at Snyder too for not letting him retire therefore called a crappy D scheme all year to make Snyder think he needed to be let go?

LOL, I guess we now know who the youngsters are on this board.   Sorry you guys missed such dynamic QB's at K-State, it was fun.   Hang another Kleindozer poster.

I lived through both generations, Dax. Trying to devalue Klein isn't a age gap difference, it's just plain and simple, a rough ridin' idiotic difference! DO you value the ball? because Bishop had plenty of turnovers "being athletic and trying to make plays happen". Wgaf how they get it done? Saying Klein isn't athletic is idiotic.

It's apparent and our coaches too, unless he's letting them blacks run around with the football and raise hell.

The usual suspects who can't handle any perceived criticism of their team/hero's strike again.    I'm not devaluing what Klein did, he just wasn't the athlete that the pinnacle of dual threat QB'ing at K-State had lining up behind center, no need for the usual suspects to get all butthurt because I'm not heaping as much glowing praise on Klein as they demand.   The original statement was also more inline with our two OC's who IMO don't know what to with better athletes at QB.

Wow, maybe change your name to WacKKKyTuck??

You should start a Bombshell II thread, or take it to the conference realignment thread.

Oh and WacKKKyTuck . . . we had to value the football more with Klein because we weren't nearly as dynamic across the board  on offense in terms of athletes and our defense redefined bend and hopefully don't break.

Kelin really benefited frok the play calling that was like, "we just got 8 yards on a QB run.  the defense cannot stop it.  Let's not pass with our QB who sucks at passing."

I wish we ran that this year.

Thus the Dimel and Miller and conundrum.

Coaches are clearly relevant to this thread.

This is why I didn't bother to continue the argument earlier.  Pointless and there's other, more interesting information to hopefully be read.
