Didn't watch, but it sounds like it was a great all-star game. Every single person on Twitter other than MIR appears to have loved the Elam Ending
I know it was one game but I'm more pissed at everyone who thought that it was a success. They clearly would have been blowing it no matter what. Agendites.
The point of the Elam Ending is to shorten the amount of time the end of game situation is supposed to take. It took at least 20 minutes of real time for the two teams to essentially race to see who could score 2 baskets first. It absolutely didn't save time, and this was an all star game, I can't believe how long it would have taken if it were a meaningful regular season game or a playoff game.
Too many timeouts, too many and way too lengthy reviews, and really really really bad offensive basketball. The flow was garbage. It finally ending with Anthony Davis making the second of two free throws, after badly bricking the first, was just perfect.
