No wonder little sister's athletic dept can't even get a mention when it comes to B12/PAC10/B10 conference realignment.  No one in their right minds wants to align themselves with these scumbags/deviants.

And kudos to Turner Gill, who, when faced with two kids who were obviously struggling in life and facing problems, cut his ties to them and told them to hit the road instead of offering help and guidance.  I wonder if he noticed they weren't paying enough attention during their BELIEVE chants...  :dunno:

Jayhawks charged with 5 felonies

LAWRENCE, Kansas – Two former University of Kansas football players face five felony charges after allegedly robbing four people at gunpoint last week inside a Lawrence apartment.

Jamal Greene and Vernon Brooks were both charged Monday with one count each of aggravated burglary, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated robbery.

Court documents alleged that Greene, 22, and Brooks, 23, were carrying at least one handgun on Friday, March 14 when they broke into an apartment in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street and ordered four people to the floor.

The men spent a short time inside the apartment before fleeing, but nothing was taken from the apartment.

Greene, a defensive tackle, was on the Kansas football roster until shortly after the news broke Friday, when KU coach Turner Gill announced he had been removed from the team. Brooks was dismissed from the team prior to spring practices for violating unspecified team rules, the university said.
Police say Brooks was arrested shortly after the incident when he was pulled over by the University of Kansas Police Department and Greene was apprehended without incident later Friday morning in the 2300 block of Murphy.

Greene, who was suspended twice during 2009 for separate violations of unspecified team rules, played in nine games as a defensive tackle during his junior year in 2009.

Brooks had a court date set for May 27. Greene’s next appearance in court was set for June 10. Both were being held Monday on $100,000 bond.

Incredible new drinking game for Bros.

http://brosicingbros.com/?page_id=2

Now there are some simple rules to the game:

1.)You cannot refuse an ice. If you refuse to drink the ice you are instantly excommunicated and shunned, and thus can never ice another bro or be iced.

2.)If you are iced by a fellow bro you can ice block. When presented w/ an ice, you pull out an ice of your own and reverse the ice on your bro. The ultimate ice insult.

Seriously has there ever been a better combo of 30 minute shows back to back in the history of television?  The simple answer is no and that answer was engraved onto every Hills/City fan's forehead from the premieres of these two hit shows new seasons just 3 short weeks ago.

The Hills-
Where to begin?  Has Kristen ever looked better?  Not to this longtime Laguna Beach/Hills fan.  Will LC make a triumphant return? I HOPE SO- she has to show her face.  Heidi? No thanks, that plastic surgery looks wacky.  Spencer has officially lost it and my love for him has grown to new levels.  -And I love his crystals last week.  Speidi, why do we love you so?

Hey Lo- shove it you freak.  Same to you Stephanie, beat it.  Brody- stay strong and get back up on Kristen, you know you want to and she wants you.  Especially with Audrina with that d-bag Ryan Cabrara.  Seriously the dude is a mega tool box, loved Brody giving him crap last week at the party (before Spencer wigged out).

City-
And Olivia.  Wow.  She's just throwing Whitney and her new line of clothing (Whitney Eve) right under the bus.  Tonight i'm sure sparks will fly as Whit confronts Olivia.  I also LOVED how Erin said "No You Don't Girlfriend" to Olivia and threw her under the bus to Joe at the Elle executive meeting and defended Whit's new clothing line.  Glad Joe agreed, amirite?  High five to Joe and Erin (and Whitney for her forward facing designs).  Olivia, we love you girlfriend but you better check yourself before you wreck yourself

do you have any idea how much, in dollars, K-State's athletic department is worth to the big 12?

how much money does our athletic department generate annually for the conference? <---Would this be the correct way to measure the value?  Possibly include potential future earnings?<--Prob not.  Might make sense to use a 5 year rolling average though.  Should prob include any non-cash value we provide the conference in the form of good will, etc (not sure if this type of non-cash value exists specific to valuation of athletic departments but wanted to include it if it does).

Peppers planting in KC-
Pepper (plants) 05/10 - 05/30

Hot Peppers
Anaheim: 68 days: These are the mildly hot, meaty chiles that you buy in those little cans at the grocery labeled, "Chiles". These however, taste much better than canned ones. These plants are about 30" tall and yields an abundance of 7-8" long chiles with a shiny green color or ripening to a mellow red color. This is an easy pepper to grow. (open pollinated)

Ancho Ranchero: 78 days. Better yields and larger fruit than Ancho. Extra-large ancho peppers turn from dark green to red. (open pollinated)

Caribbean Red: 110 days. Hotter than the regular orange Habanero. Bright red wrinkled fruits 1 to 1-1/2" deep and 1" wide. Handle this pepper with care!!!

Cayenne: 75 days. Thin tapered fiery hot standard, 5 3/4 inch curved fruit ripen from dark green to crimson red. (open pollinated)

Habanero: 90 days. Extremely hot small fruit start out light green and ripen orange. (open pollinated)

Hot Hungarian Yellow Wax: 60 days. A yellow, medium hot variety. Fruit average 6-7" long and slightly tapered. (open pollinated)

Jalapeno: 70 days. The classic medium hot pepper. These small fruit can be used in almost any kind of cooking and will keep well in a multitude of ways. The virtues of this pepper cannot be highly enough touted. (open pollinated)

Jalapeno Goliath:  68 days.  30% hotter than the Jalapeno.  Thick walled fruits about 1-1/2" across and 4" long.  Good disease resistance.

Serrano Del Sol: 75 days. Strong plants that load up early with dozens of fruit that are twice the size of a regular Serrano Chile .

Bell Peppers
Ace: 50 days. Amazing extra-early yields of small to medium-sized green bell peppers. Ripens red. (hybrid)

Bell Boy: 70 days. Fruit is medium long, thick-walled, mostly 4-lobed, green ripening to red. All-America winner. TMV resistant. (hybrid)

Gypsy: 50 days. Very early and prolific pepper. Fruits are wedge shaped, 2-3 lobes, 3-4 inches long, greenish yellow turning to orange red. Compact plants.

Early Sunsation: 70 days. Big blocky bell peppers, 4-1/2" long and nearly as wide, smooth and consistently well-shaped. Plants are tolerant to most pepper virus diseases and 3 races of bacterial spot. Extra sweet when fully yellow. (hybrid)

Orange Sun: 80 days. Beautiful deep orange bell pepper is from 4 to 5 inches long and not quite as wide. Thick walls and very sweet flavor. (hybrid) NEW!!

Red Knight: 55 days green. 75 days red. Big, blocky, thick walled and turns red early. Fruity and sweet. King Arthur type with better disease resistance in more compact, open plant. (hybrid)

Bank robbery inside Overland Park grocery store

A man wearing a white hooded jacket robbed a U.S. Bank inside an Overland Park Price Chopper this afternoon.

The man allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money about 3 p.m. He fled on foot from the bank in the 7000 block of W. 75th St. No injuries were reported.

The man was described as a black male in his early 20s, weighing about 160 pounds and six foot two inches. He was also wearing a University of Kansas ball cap and a blue button down shirt with a collar.

further proof that the iphone OS/app store will need to make some major changes soon because open source/android is well on its way to surpassing iphone OS.  as android handsets continue to evolve and more and more people are exposed to the flexibility they can provide, they will naturally gravitate to them instead of living within Jobs' rules.  i can't see apple ever going open source but they're going to have to do something, i would think.

i would have provided a link to the other user created app OS's growth charts out there that were referenced in the "apple" thread but we all know they don't really exist.

anyways, great news for everyone who uses a smartphone, competition is a good thing.

Kansas State Football / Punting the ball question- Sean Snyder related
« on: April 07, 2010, 03:52:55 PM »
Coach Snyder always focuses on having gritty special teams.  They seem like they want to knock your helmet off each and every time down the gridiron.  Crash Ekler (traitor) dated that hot XO (Missy?) and was a good example of the type of grit I'm referring to.  How do you guys think that guys like Playboy All American Sean Snyder, punt the ball so far?  I've tried out in the fields by the rec and get it like 30 yards maybe?  What's the deal, increased leg strength and perfect mechanics?  Coach Snyder can pick the family members with talent and that's why I'm confident Tate will be All B12 in a couple years.  Back to punting, seems like the perfect position to play....if you can do it.
