Jesus guys it's b/b it's scientific.  Check out economist justin wolfers:

@JustinWolfers: #Science explains. RT @brettrainbow: Watching this flipped the colors from w+g to b+b https://vine.co/v/O21nlFP9KKl

@JustinWolfers: Even knowing the truth, I remain on #teamwhiteandgold. It has me questioning the nature of truth. Is this what philosophers do all day?

Doesn't the description in the first picture in this article prove it's gold/sky blue?

So it's white/gold until you flip the screen back so all of the colors get distorted. Interesting.

i don't get it. if the dress is obviously blue and black, and you manipulate the colors with photoshop until they are actually white and gold, 50% of people still see blue and black? sounds like 50% of people are braindead blind idiots

the weirdest thing is that it isn't either of those. it's baby blue, light brown.

I had not heard about this until the Morning Mashup was talking about it on the radio this morning and then thankfully gE is here to explain it to me...

The dress is clearly blue and black. That original post ITT looks washed out causing it to be periwinkle and faded black. Even the angles or whatever that people are seeing as gold/white, still just looks like blue/black just more washed out to me. (I can see how some people might perceive it as gold but those people would be wrong.)

Also, I have proven to have excellent color perception by taking several online colorblindness tests and comparing my results to other people in my office.

I can see a little blue. I can see a little gold. I can see a little white. There is absolutely no color on that entire dress that could possibly look anything close to black under any lighting conditions. GTFO with the black.

No black whatsoever. White/Blue and Gold/Tan

no, 50% of the people have highly developed brains that recognize the image is somewhat distorted and still know that the dress is black and blue, because the dress is black and blue.

the other 50% are just less evolved idiots.

It is obviously white and gold. You can't do a color picker off the picture because it is in shadow. That is why there are blue tints. Shadow isn't black. It takes on all of the reflective light from the area around it. I am sure we could find 1000 pictures of white garments that have blue shadow on them.

I haven't once looked at it and saw blue and black.

Yes, it is like when there is a big piece of carpet laying on the highway and for a few seconds your brain perceives it as a dead deer...but then you get a little closer and think "I was an idiot for thinking that was a deer when it is clearly just a piece of carpet."

Some of us can more easily realize it is not a deer (or not gold and white).

I'd love to see more pictures of the same dress. You know, non janky ones.
