This about requiring a business that accommodates the public to serve everyone as established by local.  Laws.  Gays have been using these laws to make Christian florists and bridal shops to do business with them when they object to theirlifestyle.  These laws were aimed at protecting minorities rights; no separation of services on the basis of color or ethnicity. In many ways I think businesses should have the right to refuse service to things that offend them - but how?

Why do civil rights get thrown into this sort of disagreement? The baker has morals that won't allow her to accommodate the customer. She shouldn't be forced to. Strictly political correctness at work here.

I mean, if your morals are to not serve black or gay people, you probably shouldn't be able to. It seems like there is a clearly right side, and a clearly hateful side in this instance, although generally it is a much more complicated issue

Businesses are free to deny service based on people acting like jackasses.  It happens all the time.  Government has a duty not to infringe on free speech.  However, businesses don't.  It will be obvious to the courts that this customer was denied service based on his actions, not based on his religious status, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, etc.  It tickles me to think of how this guy would argue in court that the bakery discriminates against Christians.

Maybe. Forcing people to change rarely works. Convincing them to change takes more effoert but the results are usually better.
