Have any of you guys tried the "Hard" root beers?

I tried the Coney Island one and it was ok, but I haven't yet found the Not Your Father's Root Beer.

Not your fathers is not good.  It is way too sweet and has some disgusting stuff happening under the sweet.

Hmmmm. I have a several friends who think it is great, but I haven't tried it yet. The girl at the liquor store (when I bought the Coney Island) did say NYFRB is very sweet and Coney Island is less sweet, more like sarsaparilla (although I'm not sure I'd know the difference between root beer and sarsaparilla).

IYAM, the best alcoholic rootbeer is to get the rootbeer you like and put captain morgan or black seal rum in it.

Hard root beer is a ploy put on by the macro breweries. It's not beer, it's not a spirit. It's basically the next Zima...

I don't even like root beer!

Although alcoholic ginger beer on ice is just incredibly refreshing.

On my 6th of these tonight...go Royals? Pretty good. Gotten tired of all of the high hops in place of balanced flavor ales that seem to be in style lately, so leaning a bit malty.  I enjoy this one quite a bit, not as good as a Bellhaven nitro pour on tap, but good. 7.7% Alc is kinda high though
