Waks, Wildcatzphreak, Fatty Fat Fat, etc,

Did Prince pick up another quarterback in KSU's last recruiting class? Or is he still forced to rely on just Freeman and Coffman? I heard he didn't, and I thought for sure that it would be his top priority. If he didn't he is putting himself in a tight spot obviously if the injury bug hits. Has he commented on this publically?

Freeman is a stud, but if he goes down right now, an adequate replacement might be a year away at least.

Please don't take offense to this. I just think it is an interesting corner Prince is seemingly backing himself into.

Here we go. I say by post 100 you'll be in full "gbrzackkelleromgcallahan" mode.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'm not the type to do that. I just like discussing sports.

Nebraska has its own problems. Our running back depth is paper thin. Lucky is back, but Glenn is still hobbled and Wilson is done for the forseeable future (staph infection in knee). Am I worried? You bet.

Nebraska is thin at qb too. Keller is a stud, but other than him its Joe Ganz who didn't exactly inspire me when he was in last year. Maybe he is better now, but I don't know yet. Lee, who IS great, is out for spring with a knee injury. That's it.

This is strange, A husker fan that's not taking jabs with a bunch of unsubstantiated bull$%!.  I lived in Nebraska for twelve years and I never heard the end of it.  It stopped for about fifteen minutes on the evening of November 14, 1998, but then it started back up again.  I'm not sure what to think of you S. Parker.  But keep it up and your SN won't get changed.

Pittcat,

I can relate. I lived in Kansas among your fans when Nebraska completely sucked (Solich years) and I never heard the end of it either. My boss and my girlfriend's brothers (4 of them) were all wildcat fans. They weren't mean--it was good-natured trash talk--but I still never heard the end of it.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Make enough backhanded jabs at NU and he'll break.

They all break...

 :katpak:
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I already know the stuff you guys would bring (Christian Peter, Lawrence Phillips, the 2003 massacre where our fans left, etc) and I don't care. Dozens of little smilies jerking off don't bother me either.

I didn't ask "what have you got" as an all-out taunt. My point is that I'm not real uptight about Nebraska's program. It has had its problems, and some of them were dealt with poorly.

You left out Brook Berringer.

I left out Brook Berringer? What, the thread where you guys made fun of his death? I saw it, and I didn't care. Yes, it was in poor taste, but you guys were just trying to goad NU fans because they over-react to stuff. Same with you wishing Marlon Lucky would die. I saw that thread too. Didn't care.

Most Nebraska fans don't seem to understand that those threads are started simply to get a reaction.  :blindfold:

Holy crap. I cannot believe it.

We picked up a 3 star QB out of Wichita but basically, if Freeman goes down then we are &@#%ED.

That's a tough situation, but I can understand because we are in a similar one. We were completely fine until Zach Lee tore his ACL a couple months ago.

Chances are, Freeman will be fine. But I still think Prince should have done more to keep Lopina or Evridge around.

Is your three-star quarterback available for spring practice?

No. However, I hear from people that he should be a pretty good prospect though.

Yeah, we have a three star guy too (Witt) but I don't know how much of the offense he can learn in time for next season. I think he will be a good qb eventually, but he isn't a very good answer to any immediate concerns.

I take it Hartman is your new qb?

It sucks how fast the injury bug can strike. As late as December, I wasn't really worried about next year. But then Lee (QB) tore his ACL, Glenn's (RB) foot injury didn't heal well, Wilson (RB) got a post-surgery infection in his knee, and then Lucky (RB) went to intensive care because nothing happened to him.

We went from solid qb and rb depth to very thin depth at both positions.

Kenny Wilson reads at a 3rd grade level, which is probably actually why he developed the "infection." If nubb gets him eligible after his first semester academics, it will be a true miracle. (Cue Al Michaels 1980 Olympics hockey call.)

I wouldn't call it paper thin.  Glenn is fine by the way, he has been going 100% in spring drills with no visible effects of the injury.  It sucks about Kenny Wilson but he will get better.  We also have Mendoza that arrived as a rb in december, castille coming in who will be hard to keep off the field and Culbert helping out like last year.  It isn't great for the spring, but we are far from paper thin for the season.

I like Nebraska plus I am gay and happy,

Wow, you have a long name.  :)

Witt, Castille, and Mendoza are all going to be great players, but I doubt they can pick up the offense adequately for this upcoming season. As for Cody Glenn, he should be good to go for next year, but as of right now he isn't 100% yet, and it worries me that his injury might become chronic.

Sorry man. This thread actually was originally about KSU, but it was pulled off-track.
