Check out this group.

Diehl, Ross -- kinda slow, stiff. The best thing you can say about him is that he measures in as our tallest LB at 6'2".

Rosel, MacKenzie -- no instincts, decent speed for special teams. We have about 3 others walk-on lbs with the same skills and talent.

Houlik, John -- everything you want in a LB except good size. He's the best one we have returning.

Gaskins, Greg -- kid works the hardest of everyone, except maybe Diehl.  Will never play anything but special teams.

McGhee, Davyon -- I don't know anything about him, but no one else recruited him.

Roland, Justin    -- overweight, doesn't shed anyone, wears pink.

Perry, Marcus -- kid is not on 'ship but split time evenly with Reggie Walker last season. Of course, they pulled Perry & Walker off the field as much as possible to get us into nickle. He's a hard worker, but like Bobby Elliott said, he is not Big 12 caliber. If the other LBs were good, we wouldn't get exposed as much at this position.

Walker, Reggie -- OVER-RATED. No instincts. Platooned with a walk-on. 2007 Goal: Raise level of play to mediocre instead of sucky.

Antwon Moore -- he is the second best LB in the group, but I heard he would get moved back to safety in 2007. Why? He's undersized like Houlik, but he isn't a D-1 safety.

How much of our bad LB play in 2006 was due to stinko LBs, and how much was due to stinko DL play? It's a toss-up, but look for us to get gashed constantly in the run game from the better Os.

Still, we'll be awesome. MOB DEEP. :koolaid:

For some reason people seem to be infatuated by Houlik.  It's the same people who think Kevin Rohleder is going to turn into a stud LB.  I just don't get it.

He plays fast, unlike all our other LBs, who are tentative. He's the best of all the returning LBs, but he isn't going to make All Big 12 or anything. Rohleder, meh, he has good speed for high school. Walls is better athletically.

our lack of talent at nearly every position is scary.

but hey, FREEMAN!  :dancin:
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

talked to a trainer . . . Freeman has totally embraced the new S&C stuff. Has been working off his taut well-muscled buttocks (which match his washboard abs). Is just over 6'6" in bare feet, over 250 #s of lean studly manliness.  :adored: Where's the jergens?

The only thing that I am hoping for is that our secondary can play man and we can load the box.  We'll have to to stop anyone.

How sad is it that our best linebacker might end up being someone who's not a linebacker at all?

Hello Mr. Ian Campbell.

maybe we should move Freeman to linebacker, and let carson lead the offense.  though not sure sol-glo has the lateral speed to chase down rb's, lets try him there anyway.  hell he could play both ways!

Then Prince should run off Josh, and let Tyson Hartman be our back up!  Its gonna be interesting to see if Evridge wins that job in Wisconsin, or Lopina in WSU for that matter.

Rohleder is different.  Not every white Kansas linebacker is going to be a Marcus Perry.  I'm more confident about him than Brandon Walls.  A lot of our TX recruits with similar rankings have done jack crap.

great article.

story by TODD STEWART

Quote
Tight end Brian Lojka said he knew coming into the game how important a victory over ku would be for the team.

he was a smart cookie.

memories of when snyder had it rolling:

Quote
Dr. Lojka told me about how Snyder held a Thanksgiving Day practice once from 1-5 p.m., essentially wrecking most players' ability to spend quality time with their families. But that practice kept them focused for their upcoming bowl game.
