You can't be racist and like basketball.
quantity makes it funny.  any fan base can have one or two idiots.

I'll just post my favorites.  Copying and pasting the 50 post pages exceeds the character limit.  Here's a touching oration comparing Tyree to OJ Simpson.

Quote from: fan4life2

"Are any of you going to post a link about Evans' rape conviction?"

No. What's the point? Would you argue OJ is an upstanding citizen because he was never convicted of first-degree murder?

Evans was charged with rape & indecent assault along with three of four other guys. KSU fans long maintained that he was misidentified, just nearby but not involved etc etc, and that if he was found GUILTY they would not recruit him, but if found "innocent" like OJ, no problem.

Then ALL the MEN involved (yes, Tyree was over 21) pled guilty contrary to all the BS KSU fans were spouting. In order to spare the 14 or 15 yr old victim, the prosecutor let Evans plead to the reduced charge of assault & battery. Evans lawyer promised that Evans would have no contact with the victim because he was going far, far away-to KS, where he would no longer be a threat to local girls.

His victim said he had did it to her. She had no reason to lie. I've seen no basis anywhere for disputing this or supporting the claim that he was just a "lookout."

After it happened, Cinn. rightly dropped Evans as a recruit. Thuggins brought him out to a KS juco with the clear intent of bringing him in after he was all "rehabilitated" But the KSU AD investigated and decided Evans had far too much baggage (suggesting they found out more things we don't know about)and announced they would not be recruiting him. Then Evans was booted from his Juco team.

Then KSU lost to ku for the 24th year in a row at home and Thuggins decided morals, values, risk to students and community be damned. It's disgusting and shameful. But even more so is the reaction of KSU fans trying to justify it.

Thuggins has consistently recruited felons, assaulters & batterers, rapists, & thieves, justifying it variously as not convicted( victim afraid to testify), second chance, third chance, must let them play until convicted, etc.

Oh, this one's good:

Quote from: plazahawk
You're saying San Jose State's reputation didn't take a fall when they hired Tark?  Being in the national news as a lawless school is not good for your reputation.  Tark's history isn't half as bad as Huggins's.

None of them have figured it out yet...

Tark's hire put San Jose State on the map.  Actually, that's the same thing Huggins' hire did for K-State.

Up to 202 tasty gems:

I'd love to know who paid for Evans' lawyer. He's a kid from the projects and criminal lawyers always want their money up front. His lawyer was way more active than typical court-appointed attorneys.

Quote from: manning4prez
Are you guys that desperate to win some basketball games?    Take a minute and think about it.   This is really sick, this goes beyond sports.  I can't believe that the majority of the KSU fanbase could defend this at any level.  Afcat, if you can defend this, may God of mercy on you because this is disgusting.

Are you aware that Evans used the same defense attorney that Huggins used for his DUI?

This is so much more fun than work.

Cire, never accept Jayhox's word as fact.  Evans did not use Huggins' attorney.

A colleague of mine ripped me the other day for introducing her to this site.  She's not a poster but definitely a lurker and can't get enough of this MJRod creation.

Not even CLOSE.

I think he's confusing Tyree with Bill Walker.

Wow.  Jayhox just showed his ignorance/idiocy pretty clearly.

What's hilarious is him spouting it off as fact, like he actually knows what he's talking about.

Plazahawk suggesting that saul register with the police for his stance on Tyree.

Quote from: plazahawk
1. He'd be the first scholarship athlete to EVER graduate under Huggins' coaching, so it IS a big stretch.

2. He raped and assaulted a 15-year old.  Period.

You're a terrible member of the race for even trying to think of ways to defend this low life pond scum.  People like you should have to register with the police right alongside Mr. Evans.

One of the more reasonable Jayhawk posts - not too far off:

Quote from: PittsburgJayhawk
And to think, I used to get ripped over on the football boards by KSU fans for saying that Mangino getting caught cheating was a bigger tragedy in the grand scheme of things than him actually cheating.

I love what Huggins is doing to KSU fans.

"Hey guys, did you hear we had a player kicked off the team for sex with an underage girl?"

"You're ******** me.  Who was it?"

"Tyler Hughes."

"Oh, well who the **** cares?"

Months later...

"Hey guys, did you hear that we got a verbal commitment from a kid who willingly aided in an act of rape, and was kicked off his junior college team?"

"Oh, God.  Who is it?"

"Tyree Evans."

"Huh.  Can he play?"

"Yeah, he's pretty damned good."

"Well, you know what I always say.  Give him a chance to keep his nose clean.  We're all about second chances and redemption here at KSU."

It's not that reasonable...he's judging the reaction/consequences to both situations...not the fact that in both situations KSU fans felt the same way about the "crime".  ku fans wouldn't "care" if Morningstar committed a felony as much as they would "care" if Collins did.

Damn those people are ignorant.

If only one of them knew the definition of "statutory rape."

Or maybe if only one of them knew that the charges of statutory rape were lowered to assault and battery AT THE REQUEST OF THE GIRL AND HER FAMILY.  Do you really think the girl and her family would request that a rape charge be dropped if he raped or aided in the rape of a girl?

I still think this whole thing is funny.  I view K-state to be one of the more conservative public schools in the nation, and we have a coach that is portrayed by a lot of the media to be a deadbeat.

Of course if we hadn't been so conservative, and not played by the rules, then we probably wouldn't have had the 'reputation' to hire Huggs.

Side note:  I -love- reading about all the Mizzou fans who wanted to hire Huggins but couldn't.  And I -love- reading their lamenting posts when we win and they're stuck with Woolly v2, winning just enough games to keep you interested and get your hopes up, but never accomplishing much.  How some will give the "you have to give Anderson time, success isn't immediate in D-1 basketball" and then some bitter MU fan will point out that Huggy is already top 4 after K-state was in the bottom half of the conference for the better part of the decade.  Then they'll get into a giant catfight over Huggy being a deadbeat, or why they should have hired him over Anderson, the recruits we're getting, etc etc etc.

Basically, I just love having other schools bitter about our success.

True Dat.

They don't even realize that all he did was touch the girl and it wasn't even in a "indecent" manner. I'm thinking he was just there and the father wanted all parties arrested.

You are correct young skywalker!

In regards to Huggins and the rest of the coaching staff.  You cannot imagine how much they absolutely love K-State and Manhattan.  From Huggs on down, everyone enjoys this town and K-Staters.  Anyone notice Huggs hat at the Little Apple New Years party in Aggieville?  It was a Western Kansas Feed Lot.  Huggs loves the fact that he has a jet he can use to go when needed.  Most of the assistant coaches were able to buy nice homes.  K-State and Manhattan = Happy Valley West!

After games, you don't ever see the ku coaches out and about in Larryville, but in Manhattan, its a family affair!  And I do mean family.  The assistant coaches take their spouses and kids out for dinner and feel the love!  Huggs and June usually get with them later. 8)
" and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me," Carl Spackler

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

If you want to see coaches and other assorted athletes, have breakfast or lunch at a non-smoking establishment on the west side of town that puts First Watch to shame.  Huggs usually holds court there with the Weefer usually in attendance lapping it all up!   :lick:
